The mystery 32x infantry set

Post by General custer » Sat Dec 08, 2007 3:35 pm

On the back of the box of the Russians, I can see 6 other soldiers, 5 with helmets and one with beret and Sten machine gun, look like British paratroops: Image , Image

Why this set never released?

I noticed that as well. They are British paras. I wonder when we will see these?

Me too. Actually both those and the US Marines. The Italian figures and upcoming Chinese infantry are interesting, but the Marines are especially needed!

yeah WTF? 21st shows a bunch of figs and never releases them. Then out of the blue suddenly we get chinese figures and italians. Just don't get 21st sometimes...

BTW General Custer nice to see you on this forum. I've seen u a couple times at treefrog.

Six are in the box

Remain two, that I surrounded with a white line:

The tankist come ( without base ) with the Sherman, the M18 Hellcat... no problems.

But the wounded never come!

I really like 21st soldiers for the price, quantity, and detail. I have 4 of each set so far except for the US Set 3 of which I only have 2 of each. I'm really into wargaming and need the extra figs.

I'll agree that there is a few sculpts that just don't make sense but can be modified to work. Take the US Listening Post figs and turn them into stretcher bearers. Then take the "canteen guys" and add medic insignias to their helmets and you've got a medic station. :)

I've seen that 21st had the US Marines at the Toy Fair and have mentioned British paras. They ususally take their time getting them into production. I think that it took 4 years just to release both mortar teams. On the old GP site he posted pics of a Lee/Grant and a truck that we've yet to see.

I can't wait for the Chinese to be released and am hoping that the German figs in the playset with the Firefly get released on their own. I cannot find any of those new playsets to save my life but then again I don't need 4 Fireflys.

We need a set of German and US tankers that actually fit in ALL of the vehicles that 21st offers. I use the German tankers from Dragon - Wittman's crew. I also use their German MG team. The other Dragon figs suck IMHO.

* The U.S. guy being "hit" you have circled in that pic is the MIA guy that was never released.

* Funny how the Lightning Bolt is placed as if it had actually struck him too. * + = 8)
