1:35 scale kits that are actually 1:32 scale!!!!

Post by plasticgeneral » Tue Jan 10, 2012 11:21 pm

1:32 does not end with FOV & 21 cent. I know 3 kits you would die for that were made in 1:32 by mistake.

#1- Tamyia M-10 tank destroyer (old) 1/35 actually 1:32!

#2- Academy Easy 8 Sherman 1/35 actually 1:32 !!

#3- Dragon- German Ski Troops 1/35 actually 1:32 !!!

HAPPY HUNTING, please share more 1;32 secrets.

Thanks. i thinking there may be more out too. maybe the older monogram kits from the 50's /60's, Guess 1/32 isn't dead just hidden in time.

Welcome to the forum. We had already covered the vintage Tamiya tank's scale issue, but the Academy M4A3E8 and Dragon troops are new I think. Refer to this thread for some more lesser known 1/32 offerings:

the Academy M4A3E8 from their first release is a copy of the old Tamiya M4A3E8 from the 70's. A lot of the monogram, renwal, and Airfix 1/32 are being re-released as well! Love the atomin cannon!

Forgot about the atomic cannon, I'll add that to the list! I think I also need to add the Lindberg LCVP.

The Bandi Halftrack rocket launcher and the Bandi Hummel are next on my list.

GREAT list! Thank God I all ready own most of them. Unfortunately the Fagarty is 1/30, but I can confirm the three over sized kits that I have mentioned.

Actually, Figarti makes (made) 1/32 stuff. Nowadays it is all 1/30, but that wasn't always the case. All the things on the list are confirmed 1/32, by me. The only ones that push the definition, and linger between the scales (1/32 and 1/30), are the Tiger (disassemble-able version) and Shinhoto Chi-Ha. They fall into neither category really as one dimension will be 1/32, but then another will be closer to 1/30. The tiger is the biggest violator as length-wise it is dead on 1/32, but its width is too fat! It looks like a tiger that had a few too many antelope

The rest on that list are definitely1/32; now the figures that come with them are consistently indecisive about what scale they want to be lol!

According to ebay's completed listings, someone bought one of those Bandai Hummels for $20.50 + $10 shipping.

If I had read this page earlier it might have been mine.

Apparently some company named Nitto Kagaku made a Stuka zu fuss in 1/35 - saw it in a French ebay auction along with the Bandai Hummel and two Imai kits (both Pzkpfw IV-G's).

Does anyone know about these and if they are really 1/35 or closer to 1/32 like the others?

I believe I have a couple of built Nitto SDKFZ 251s and I beleive they are 1/35th. I also have a Nitto SKFZ 250 and I am sure it is 1/32nd. Here is a shot of it with some 1/35th stuff. It appears a little large. Sorry try this link.
