Post by rmoore456 » Sun Jul 17, 2005 6:48 pm

Found at Walmart 6 1/48 scale WWII vehicles by New Millennium Toys. They are a Kubelwagen w/canvas top in gray with green stripes like the 1/6th version, a Schwimwagen w/canvas top in gray, German Staff Car Type 170V in gray and green splotches, a Jeep with HQ 3rd Army markings, an Amphibious Jeep in green and brown camo and a 3/4 ton Weapons Carrier w/canvas top. The tops are not removable. By the box art there is/will be at least anothe Kubelwagen in three color camo and another 3/4 ton Weapons Carrier in USN markings. $5.76 each.

I saw these in San Antonio as well. There were only six on the shelves with no more in sight.

I bought the 3/4 ton weapons carrier. It is a very nice piece with great weathering and great detail. This is the first one I bought, but I do plan on picking up the other ones.

I've only seen these at one WM (Corning/Painted Post in Upstate NY), and they only have the modern pieces there (Humvees and Little Birds mostly).

Tempted by the black LB and the desert troop carrier Humvee, but have passed so far.

Has anyone ever come across the M113 they show on the box? I'm wondering if they even made it.

I did end up buying the Little Bird and the desert Cargo Humvee at the WM in Watkins Glen NY last week.

I have seen them all and I was tempted to buy them to use with my aircraft display in my classroom. But, I passed. I don't know if I can go to another scale.

funny scale...

The 3/4 tonner is closer to, or at, 1/43rd scale. I put it next to a 1/48th M4A3 and the truck was as big as the Sherman.

It should. All of these (except the helicopters) are remakes of the now-defunct Victoria line, which were all 1/43, so beware of these so-called 1/48 series, because they aren't.
