Hobby Master has been doing a great job the last year and a half. with the release of the Opel blitz, fuel truck and tthe up coming gun motor carraige. what do you think would be the next best release. i for one woud like to see a SdKfz. 222 or a Puma. Atalya has done these although not as nice as HM and the fact they have released these only in Europe has made if hard to get them. atleaset at an affordable price.

An IS-2 Stalin Heavy Tank, or ISU-152 Assault Gun would top my list. I've been after a Stalin in this scale for almost 2 yrs. now, only outfit I know of that makes a pre-assembled and painted model is IXO/Altaya out of Spain, rather scarce, and quite pricey when the do occasionally show up at the bay.. :(

I'd like to see an M-5 Stuart, SDK 222, Renault FT-17, M-7 Priest, Matilda II and more. Really, a lot of the smaller armored vehicles and a lot of the early war vehicles have not been done yet.

Altaya/DeAgostini/IXO tanks should be available in the US very soon. You can go to the UK site and give them your email to be notified as soon as they've set up shop in the US.

From their website...
"Coming soon: The Combat Tanks Collection in the USA. If you would like to be kept informed when the on-line shop will be launched in the USA, please leave your details here"

1/72 Scale Preference

German tractor-drawn artillery: 10.5cm FH18 or 15cm FH18 with 5-ton tractor. It's a possibility now that HM is doing the 25 pounder.

The only word/promise I've heard any where is on a retailers website that said the release has been coming for a year or two. In the UK, the tank collection hasn't been out for a year yet and they only added an announcement about the collection being available in the US a couple months ago. Guess we'll see though, I heard it was going to be a September/October date.

The good news is they're combining the Panzer Collection with the Combat Tanks Collection so some of the nicer unique vehicles from the Panzer Collection will be available sooner than later.

I'm pretty much in agreement with a lot of the choices already mentioned.

I'd like to see sets of smaller items.
  • - Artillery set: 10.5cm FH18 and 15cm FH18, maybe throw in a Nebelwerfer 42

    - Light vehicle set: Kubelwagen, Schimmwagen, BMW R75 and Kettenkrad (any three of these)

    - Anti-Tank set: 3.7 cm Pak 36, 5 cm Pak 38 and 7.5 cm Pak 40,
I'd prefer sets of three in about the price range of a single tank, but could see breaking them in to sets of two vehicles or cannons with some corresponding supplies or munitions.

On the more wishful thinking, Karl Morser, V-2 and V-1

Bring em' on, I for one would welcome the Altaya/IXO line. Detail and weathering wise they seem to be roughly on par with MRC Easy Model and HM, which suits me just fine. 8)
