The FOV Elefant is finally here!

Post by Sky Ray » Tue Nov 18, 2008 2:50 pm

Just went to Target today and found an Action Series Elefant sitting on the shelf! Couldn't believe it! Didn't someone said it wouldn't be coming out in Action grade earlier, and only the Deuce would?
Anyways, I had the same problem checking it out like I did back at the Costa Mesa Target when I was trying to buy the FOV 1:18 M16 half-track, but luckily I brought a Stug with me to use for them to scan. 8)
Now the Action Series Deuce can't be far away now! :D :D :D

$25.99.
It did not ring up at the checkout by itself through, so I brought over one of the Stugs for them to use to ring up as a substitute instead.

Awesome news! Now I'll have to start checking out Targets in my area. Always the possibility one is lurking around the Fresno area somewhere

So does the enthusiast grade look $30 better is the question.

Based on Sky Ray's encouraging report, I went out to check a few of my local Targets. No Elefant, but I did find the S2 M2 Bradley (Baghdad 2003). I already have the Enthusiast series of that tank, and this looked the same. It was in the new style of FOV box and so is probably in the same assortment as the Elefant. Perhaps someone beat me to the other tank... Hopefully, these will get good coverage as I'd like to get an Elefant for $26

Tman:
Great recon update, I was thinking it will be problematic if the only FOV items in Target would be hordes of Elefants and Deuces sitting on the shelf for half a year. Anyway this is great I'll be looking forward to finding the OIF Bradley, I missed out on that one, and hopefully this also means a re-release of the King Tiger. :)

Nice pics. With those roadwheels and the general hull shape, the Elefant could pass as a more modern SPG.

Looks good, not much difference between this and the Enthusiast at twice the price... the only real difference that I can see being some light weathering on the tracks, road wheels, and front fenders of the enthusiast, and maybe a few accessories, but certainly not worth an extra $35. I'll be keeping an eye out for an action grade at my two local Target stores, but they have a dismal track record of getting any new FOV stuff on the shelves, so I'm not holding my breath on this one. Anybody know if these will be available thru Target online..??

I checked target on line a few days ago, nothin yet!
Its easy to add alittle weathering to the tracks to save the cash

I collect various scales, but if you dont collect 1/32 you are absolutely missing out. I def like the enthusiast edition better, but not sure its worth 30 bucks more if you count shipping.

Target may be having a cash flow problem.

More possible sales in the offing.

I checked my two closest Targets today and nothing yet, but I'm still going to give it some time. It's been awhile since I've had any reason to hunt, but since the Elefant is going to be showing up at Target, I'm going to be getting out a lot more. :D

Get to eat my own words (sort of), but I found the FOV 3 3/4 ton truck today 8) The $28 price was rather expensive for what one gets, but considering it is at least half of the price for the Enthusiast grade version for pretty much the same product, I don't mind the price so much

Now the Elefant should be next in line...
