1/32 Folgore Landing Gear Question

After months on re-decorating the family room I was finally able to break this bird out to assemble it as I had ran out of room.

My question is, where do the struts for the main landing gear rest? I do see a tab where it appears that it would go and I'm assuming that the strut would go on the side of the tab that's closer to the gear strut but it does seem to be a tight fit. Is this correct?

Mine rest on a small tab thats on the edge of the actual wing piece. It's tiny, but it's a perfect distance. I'll go buy some batteries so I can provide pictures.
