TSSD's late War SS Germans

Post by Winky » Mon May 05, 2008 8:37 am

Just a note to insure everyone knows the new TSSD guys are a figure set of 8 figs with two surprises in them rather than a playset.

Here goes. Hold your breath. In addition to 6 infantry (a panzerfaust shooter, MP44 shooter, standing sniper with a Gewerh rifle and scope, kneeling schmiesher [sp?] guy, and kneeling two man machine gun team with ammo belt and ammo can), there will also be two MOUNTED Germans!!!! One will be an officer/NCO in soft cap with a luger, schmieser, and binocs and the second will be a trooper with a rifle and helmet. Whooo hooo!!! The total figure set consists of 12 infantry altogether along with the two mounted guys for $23.00, reflecting increasing costs in China. Hey, to my way of thinking, a $3 raise after several years ain't a bad deal. Thanks Nick and other manufacturers for holding costs level for as long as you have.

The initial figure pictured on TSSD's website (Mr. sniper) looks like he's standard high quality TSSD production, meaning, for me, great animation, detailing, and sculpting. The machine gun team and mounted guys are gonna blow my mind, I'm sure. What a fantastic addition to WWII German troops.

Same type of plastic as conte figures this set is around $23. Ha it takes awhile to paint these things but once they are they look great and the amount of detail really shows ( im speaking from experience with conte and other tssd figs. not this set in particular to avoid any confusion) and also the are on the larger side of 1/32 scale in size. Almost forgot not any time soon but eventually tssd will problably release these painted like all of their other sets.

Hey that's cool, I never knew that Toy soldiers of San Diego was releasing prepainted sets of figs. I just took a look at them on their website (which is desperately in need of an upgrade). I see Michigan Toy Soldiers also carries these...good stuff!

Here are some examples of what the pre painted figures look like:

I like them but some have faces that are a little funky. :(
