Why do I feel there isn't £ 1,299 worth of quality between this and the 21st century spitfire?

Ok, maybe it's the glare in my monitor, but I'd say the colors on this model differ "slightly" from most if not all the Spitfire models/replicas I've seen (including the 21c version, which is closer to what I thought Spitfires looked like until right this minute). Then again, I'm not a Spitfire connoisseur, so what do I know?

I remember seeing this product before. If it had been priced at 200.00 bucks then perhaps, maybe it might have been something to take a little more serious. But anytime you get in the thousands of dollars... well, for me- I start to think about what I could do with that much spending money. It's a family vacation, a high performace hod rod car part, a nice house payment, a summer of car payments, half a year to a year of gas. those kinds of thoughts.

I like planes as much as the next guy. I like the idea of the super detailed engine but not at those prices... NO WAY! You would be hard pressed to get your return on that investment anytime soon.

That kind of purchase is just the thing that would have my wife burn my XD collection over. That or she would have me see a shrink for professional help.

Not to mention that it could be damaged while in transit.
