That would make 3 21C TRU stickies..maybe the Pak 40 hanomag could be released or combined with the general TRU if this is going to be one..

to be honest, i don't think the gun trailer deserves a sticky. We can just use this thread and let it bounce up and down. Be a good gauge of interest in this piece (or lack thereof).

Posts of finds can also be made in the respective 21c stickies that exist already.

No sign of them at the TRU in Elyria and Parma, Ohio.

Checked one of my two local TRUs today. No sign of it yet. Not quite sure why, but I'm actually pretty excited about this piece.

Me too. And I know that when I do find one, dispite the price, I'll be buying one. (I suffer from 'buyer's regret' when I passed on a lot of pieces from the past)...and am now paying higher for the ones I missed now....sigh....

No one wants to spend the loot...

Here is a visualization of it:

-Take a M16 Quad .50 gun and mount.
-Take the bed of a pickup truck

Ta Da- You have the quad trailer M17

I just saved you all 30.00 bucks each!

Exactly!

It would have been a good time to reissue the S1 Willy's Jeep with the quad cart. They would have been flying off the shelves...

I love how the M-17 trailer with the gun turret goes for close to $10 more than what the whole M-16 halftrack did. That was a much better deal

I will only get one of these if they go clearance at WM and I can pick a few up for under $10 - like last year when i bought the whole gun halftrack package for cheap cheap.

the price of this compared to last years prices is a big turn off for me.
also
Half tracks at TRU going for the same price I can buy a blackhawk at target?

Round goes to BBI

I agree that was a better deal but the trailer does come with a figure. I think $30 is still a bit steep for what you get...also hard for a kid to take a liking to something that can't go anywhere on it's own...

full marks to 21c for making something unique and in the process re-using existing molds (for the quad mount) but i wonder why they haven't done things like reissue the kubel and jeep, which you would think would cost even less for them to produce and would be quite a bit more popular, i should think.

The quad trailer is neat...but as a piece all by itself it is lacking excitement for most people. Maybe having it in a set with the dodge truck they made, even though it would cost more, would have been a better approach.

What's interesting though, is that if they'd come out with a german flakvierling, on it's trailer, everyone would be turning summersaults with excitement (i know i would be). But the quad .50 trailer, which is more or less the same thing, lacks luster. Maybe some exciting artwork on the box, showing a quad in action against german aircraft for example, would help fire the imaginations of potential buyers.

Overall, it appears the new armour pieces, the halftracks and pak, sold very well. Hopefully this won't be too much of a damper to the resurgence of armour we are starting to see...

Maybe the Quad-Trailer is just part of some experiment or test by 21st., who knows.

...... testing ,.. test ,.. testing 1 2 ...

............. probably just a bad marketing tool.

I'll get one eventually , but I won't pay any more than $15.oo bucks for it , either.

There is no Kubel. TKO has said the mold was destroyed. They cannot re-issue it.

yeah, that darn Kubel is toast. It will take another new mold for us to see that one again.

obviously the trailer is a low cost item to produce, I would say 80% of the molds are already done from various vehicles. The release will bring in income to offset the tooling $$$ on the new items just like repaints.

Which is what 21C is in business to do...bring in cash. The rush of people to buy this will surprise you. As you'll only see it once! IMO

I haven't seen a 1/18 vehicle in WM since Christmas.

well buy it and get a platoon figure when they come out and use the figure the trailer comes with for something else and you're all set. If sales for this are as weak as i expect, you won't see it again in the Platoon line.

so shoplift a couple of other figures when you go buy it and it's a better deal then.

Aferg’

Is it at all possible to amalgamate the two M-17 related threads as I see that we seem to be re-covering a lot of the same ground that was discussed in the Ketten 'v' M-17 poll thread.

And I think there where some important points raised in the other thread relative to this discussion also.

I think the FL TRU's are behind the west coast a couple of weeks. I checked the closest one and nada.

Friday I'll ckeck another one not so close.

DH

As I am one of those that passed on a lot of earlier 21C releases, I don't want to be wishing a few years down the road.

No, there is no way to combine the two threads into one. The only way to do it would be to copy and paste each post from this thread into the other and then i could delete this thread.

So, if someone wants to volunteer....

It hasn't sold yet. I wonder if it has started shipping to e-tailers yet? I remember something simiilar with the new Hanomags last fall--some very small e-tailers (like the sell out of the basement category) were asking $60-80 each for them on e-bay before they started showing up all over.
Maybe someone has the grand delusions that the same will happen here.
Then again, there are the completists that will pay whatever it takes to get everything--if 21st released Patton's outhouse for $50, they would be in line for it.

Actually, there were two and both sold for $60. Just check under purchases.

I will wait until my TRU stocks it. I am one of the ones that will spend $30 for it. I am a nut for artillery pieces. I just hope the figures fits with his arms on and I don't break the scope off like I did with my Quad 50 halftrack.

Actually there are four, at least, and I'm one (not in the link that was provided). Given shipping costs, extra luggage costs (when I can even find a reason to take more stuff home) and other stuff, I got one. It's not something I expect will be around for long.

Actualy, I am ready to pay $30 + international shipping cost to have it as I think it's a great piece.

And I am ready to pay $50 for Patton's undies if 21st released them :D

I picked on up yesterday. I hemmed and hawed about it. I originally went to get a Pak wagon but they were sold out already. So, I figured I should take what I can get. I need to follow the mantra of XD first I guess. I don't have a review yet because I had to go to my dj job after teaching and I got home late. I am on my plan period now, but I think I shouldn't run out to the truck and start playing with my toy. The principal might have a small fit over that one.

I got my first look at the quad trailer last weekend  It does look a little big  The color really wasn't green sort of a light brown. If they bring it down to 15$ to 19$ I would get 2. The turret on the top comes off perferct for any airfield defense  But a kettenkrad would be nice 8)
