1/18 on Clearance

Post by rmoore456 » Sat Jul 07, 2007 4:55 pm

The Normal, Illinois Walamrt has the 1/18 planes on clearance, $19.92. They had the "The Huff" F-86, both Pearl Harbor P-40's and "Old Crow" P-51.

Most of the Wal-Marts here have them clearanced to $30. I picked up the "Really George" Starfighter tonight. It's odd because the Wal-Marts here just got these in about 3 weeks ago. I'm going to hit a Wal-Mart romorrow that's had a few of the Korean Migs sitting around for a few months and hopefully they'll be on clearance too.

The Starfighter is a pretty cool plane. There is a GI Joe Comice that has ace flying either a F-86 Sabre or F-104 Starfighter. I can't remember which one though.

Could it be WM is trying to make room for the next wave of 1/18? Like Me-262s, King Tigers, and 88s? Or did WM just make the error of getting way too many planes in at once?

The clearance bug hasn't hit the Northern CA WM's as yet despite the fact these stores have received a good supply of planes as well. I've visited several of these stores within the past few weeks and none of the planes are disappearing off the shelves. I sure hope they go on clearance as well.

That's not the case here.. Other than the Migs, everything else is selling quite well so I don't guess we'll see any clearancing in my local stores..

Crazy! Just a little ways south of you, my area Wal Marts are practically starved for a good selection of 1:18 planes. I'd love to know the reason why... Only two of the seven stores in my area have any 1:18th aircraft, and its usually a selection between one or two examples of just one type of aircraft. At last check, only a couple BBD P-51s at one store and a couple Chinese Migs at another.

...they are not on clearance either

So far I have only seen one Walmart with any planes on discount in the metro KC area. They had about 9 of the N. Korean Migs at $30.00.

I checked yesterday. They are at $20, with only a couple Migs and 104's left.

Found the 104's at only one WM on clearance for $30.00.
Funny thing is only two of them were for that price and 7 other planes of the same type were full price.

Has anyone seen a Russian Mig on clearance???

Post by Helo Driver » Sun Jul 15, 2007 9:45 pm

If anyone sees a Russian Mig on clearance, please let me know. I would happily pay a few extra bucks to someone who could get one and ship it to me here in Southern California. All I've ever seen out here were the Chineese camo ones. Thanks

Thanks...

It gets frustrating waiting to find out what will happen with Wal-Marts goofy distribution system. I remember the Huff being so hard to find...and now they are everywhere. Who knows...tomorrow it may be the same thing with the Russian MIG.

I asked what looked like a manager at one of the WMs here in Tampa if any of the aircraft were on sale. He looked at me as if to say "you've got to be kidding". Not exactly sure what he mumbled after that but I left him alone to continue working on his transformer stock. Went on to check on my own and, just like the others here in town, there were only two tiger-stripe migs. Nothin' else around here from what I've found.
