P51s on clearance at TRU

Post by Snake512 » Tue Jul 03, 2007 8:51 am

Not sure if I'm breaking forum rules by posting here, but its newsworthy enough, IMO -- bbi's latest P51D, w/ Donald Duck nose art, as well as "Old Crow" and "Killer", are all on clearance at tru.com for $10  !! Not sure how long this is on for, but thought I'd pass along the word....

I actually ordered 2, and if I get them (depends on how accurate their inventory system is), they are all yours, Andrew!

I didn't find any shipping discount codes.

But I did snag the new donald duck P-51 for 10 bucks and several of the BBI WWII figs for 1.50 each!!!
I would have gotten more planes, but the shipping was KILLING me!

Are there any left?? I'm only getting about 5 items left under the "Elite Force" category and there's no P-51s or figures...

Wait! Never mind, I seem to have found them, but they're all out of stock :?

I looked under Blue Box and the stuff came up.

The "Old Crow" P-51 is still in stock @ 10.00

Have not checked the stores.

In most cases, the store would not honor the online price.

Recently I saw that appliance (egg/toast maker) was on sale on Sear.com for 12.50 (retail 49.99). Sears online was out of stock. When I went to Sears store and asked them if they would match the 12.50 price online, it took 3 level of people before the big manager let me have one he had in his store at the 12.50 price.

Worth a try! - But better hurry!

As of 7PM EST the TRU website now lists both mustangs as "temporarily unavailable online"

:x Well. I seem to have made the mistake of hesitating  and didn't get a darn thing. I'm reading on other toy forums that things were gone in as little as 15 MINUTES. I scored some stuff unrelated to this forum, unfortunately didn't get the Mustang I wanted!!

Hopefully they'll do this again soon.

But as I'm not a spoilsport, you're welcome and congrats to those who made out. They were truly amazing bargains!

Well I just missed out on getting the old crow. Any of you that got an extra $10 Old Crow from TRU that would sell me one for a reasonable price please PM me.
Thanks,
Todd

p-51s

Post by digger » Wed Jul 04, 2007 6:23 am

I was able to get the AC and a few SW figs just because I'm a sucker for a deal. The P-51s came out to $20 a piece - 10 each and 10 to ship. I plan to display the Donald Duck so if their inventory system is legit I should have an extra Old Crow for you Doc. Oh, and I should have some extra SW if anyone is interested (obviously Clone Troopers and the like were sold out...I'm talking about guys you never heard of unless you've seen all 6 episodes more than once..).

awesome intel Snake512!!! I snagged a Donald Duck. Shipping and taxes it still came out to only $19.17!! I did check a TRU store last night here in Johnson City TN and they still had a bunch of Old Crow's for the regular price.

I sometimes get the impression, based on this and past sales on toysrus.com (like the Sherman sale a while back), that they have these big clearance sales once in a while to make room for incoming product in the warehouse, even though it may be a few weeks or months before that product makes it to stores. I also wonder if this indicates that the clearanced items will not be restocked at local stores, or if the clearance is only a portion of the stock on hand (for example, they have 7,500 P-51s on hand and forecast a need for only 5,000 to restock all stores, so 2,500 get allotted for clearance).

I'd liked to get one also, but I think we'll see an influx of BBI Mustangs on Ebay.. :?
