Any other diehard Luftwaffe fans out there?
With all the questions regarding liking certain airplanes or not, how about a question regarding particular "air forces"! How many of my fellow board members are diehard LUFTWAFFE fans, which includes all era airplanes, ie., WWII, Post-war, Modern? This is not designed in order to politically align anyone, but to merely ask, airplane-wise, for a show of wings (since airplanes do not have hands ) in favor of (anything!!) LUFTWAFFE. Partial-era lovers certainly are WELCOME, too.
Thanks for joining up in formation,

The WWI and WWII era German Airforce cannot be ignored as they had many technological advances that are incorperated in our (USAF) aircraft and flight formations during dogfights.
Ich mag die Luftwaffe von Deutschland. Sie werden sehr innoviert und werden durch Firmen wie BMW, Porche, und Mercedes betrieben.

The european company EADS (wich is owned by the French and the Germans with a small 5% to the Russians) have a classic aviation restoration fund and they have this great Gustav and 262. Nowadays, they are building huge white birds like this double-deck AIRBUS A-380.

You know I am Jim
But I like Russian, and some American aircraft too.
I am interested in WWII to modern.
That A380 is HUGE! That thing actually flew?

Nur die Wahrheit!!!!! Abgemacht!!!! Wenn die Luftwaffe Flugzeugen nur Vogelein wäre, dann werde ich Vogelfänger werden (denn alle Vögel sind ja mein)!!tkjaer21 wrote:The WWI and WWII era German Airforce cannot be ignored as they had many technological advances that are incorperated in our (USAF) aircraft and flight formations during dogfights.

BTW, the advances were very evident in the Me1101. The P1101 prototype was brought to the US after WWII and utilized to help design the Bell X-5, which happened to be the world's first variable-sweep wing airplane (during flight, that is).
Don't forget, either, the Ta 183 Hukebein which was snatched up by the Russians and utilized to help bring the MiG-15 aircraft into being.
As far as aerobatics, the basic Immelmann was the manouver introduced by Max Immelmann during WWI.....what a great move and very advanced for it's time.

I like WWI through modern; I like the Germans, Russians, Japanese, British, American and some of the new Chinese military jets.
However it’s a tie between German Luftwaffe and Russian aircraft WWII-Modern, I like them both.

one of the pix looked like Wolfgang 'wolf' Czaia, a Starfighters pilot in cockpit. now i know it was him. he is main testpilot for Me-262 project.
he's got over 27000 hours flying so i know he must have put on a good show for you.

Lot's of German blood coursing through these veins, so I can't help but have a special affinity for the motherland (I could have used a different term there, but for it being adversely confiscated for use during a very bad point in human history). Germany is definately my favoritist foreign country!
I wouldn't call the Luftwaffe my favorite air force, since my true colors are red, white, and blue! But aviation would not be where it is today without the contributions of fine German engineering.
And besides, planes are planes!! They're all good!

May I answer your question with a question? Rather than name my "favorite" (singular) Luftwaffe Flugzeug, may I name the Passenger Manifest from the Titanic?! Man, PH, your question is a very tough one.pickelhaube wrote:Hey Volgelfanger. I will ask you a tough question. What is YOUR favorite German plane Made or not made. That is a tough one. But here goes: He111Fw190DFw189AFw200Bf109E/F/G(and taking a breath here)Me262Me163Ju52Ju88andanyothernotnamedairplanes. Dang, I did it...quite a mouthfull to say. The above certainly qualifies for one of the longest German compound words, like: die Donnaudampfschiffartsgesellschaftskapatinswitwe.
If I did not know better, I would have figured meine Frau asked the above question, but then again, she could care less what airplane-let alone LUFTWAFFE airplane-is my favorite. Some of you guys are very lucky, indeed !
dV
BTW, to answer directly, the He111 is probably my favorite. But then again......
Being that I am very ignorant of armor, I really cannot answer that part of the above (setup) question

PH,
I ment to mention that last April, at the Sun 'n Fun Fly In in Lakeland, FL, a British pilot/owner flew his Bücker Jungmeister (Bu 133) biplane in for the week. The airplane was decked out in the 1930's red-banded tail with Hackenkreuz, which totally floored me and delighted me at the same time....what a beautiful sight to see a politically incorrect BUT VERY ACCURATE paint scheme on a very impressive/important airplane!

For excellent photos of the Jungmeister, go to this cool link please:

The G-BUTX is the airplane which was at Lakeland last year. WHAT A BEAUTY, TOO!!

My two favorite WWII LUFTWAFFE airplanes are Ju 88 and the Me 110 (Again they has a lot of glass in the cockpit and also would be a deterrent). My post war pics are the F-4 and the Mig 29 done up in LUFTWAFFE markings.
