What 21st probably already has waiting to be released

Post by Shin Densetsu » Thu Feb 15, 2007 4:01 pm

Okay so its been said that 21st has several models waiting to be announed and are tooled at their choosing(like their phantom was). With that said, here is what I think is already tooled and waiting for further sculpting/refinement/engineering provided they can gather enough info to justify putting to market and profiting from it:

1/18

P-51B/C

Macchi(this ones for you aferg!)

A-10(possibly waiting for BBI to come out and say if they will make one or not)

Hellcat

F-100

A-4

MIG-17

retooled spitfire

Zero(probably stalled after BBI's came out)

F-22

SU-27

Just a thought. Since Roy said they already have the next 3 years mapped out, i figured theres more planes than just these.
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

I rkn they're holding back on some 1:18 figs, well i'm praying that they are. It'd be awesome to give the DAK troops something to fight against like....the British?

Ideally i'd love to see the Brits, Russians and Italians enter the 1:18 line-up. Thye've done it for 1:32 scale so why not 1:18

yeah no armor....

Post by GooglyDoogly » Thu Feb 15, 2007 5:28 pm

yeah...there's a definite dry spell of new armor.

Sorry, but anti-tank/artillery, or half-tracks are NOT armor.

The flyboys are getting all the fun.

Hopefully, the groundpounder's thirst for new armor (TANKS!!!) will be satisfied with the release of the 1/18th King Tiger....and hopefully, more armor in the future.

Yep they got 3 years pretty mapped out....3 years of repaints!

(J/K!!!!!)

Not really...

I gave up waiting on the rumors for the KT some time ago, that led to FOV's 1/16th offering and I haven't looked back. There's lotsa good stuff in 1/16.

I've read here several times that 21st also has a prototype of a 1/18 Sd. KfZ 222. So I think you can include this in your list.

I share STUKAs opinion that we will see a 1/18 priest. For the US side we only have the sherman, so I believe we will see a priest and maybe a Firefly someday.

Swap the Churchill for a Matilda, Firefly, or one of the Cruiser tanks. A Churchill would actually be the first release I'd call disappointing. It's a supremely ugly piece of armor. Heck, I'd rather see a Bren Gun Carrier before a Churchill. 8)

The Hellcat is already being done by BBI so I think 21st is gonna pass on that one. But a P-51B? I think we might see one down the road.

Didn't Roy mention a possible Bf 110E awhile back? I'd certainly consider picking that up!

I'm sure they have the FW-190 A ready to go. I'm not really sure what other "A-List" planes are out there. I just don't think they are at all interested in current planes, mock up of the A-10 notwithstanding. I'm very surprised that they didn't have a Dauntless ready to go. I guess the best naval attack plane of WW2 and the plane that won the Battle of the Pacific by sinking 6 jap carriers in 1942 just isn't what they consider "A-list" material. Heck, it was even pressed into action as a fighter a few times, and shot down at least one zero. Now you know everyone wants a divebomber with a kill flag painted under the cockpit.

Now the Starfighter - boy, with THAT war record...A-lister for sure!

I still have fingers crossed for a A6M3 Model 32.

And some one will build a B-25,

The de Havilland Mosquito has got to be included on that list.

The Mosquito is not much larger than the F-4 Phantom II. It would be nice to see.

Oh man I would LOVE a P-40E or later! One of my favorite planes right there, although the earlier versions don't appeal to me.

  Ok, maybe a Cromwell instead of the Chruchill.

We will probably see a British sherman repaint before we ever see a firefly.

More 1/18th armor!

Post by nfafan » Fri Feb 16, 2007 11:17 pm

Yes, KT is coming, but more allied is desperately needed.

21C - or BBI - already have the base hull and suspension for an M10 or M36 Tank Destroyer, or M7 Priest, or Firefly.

Lotsa repaint possibilities and the ever-important playability factor for Lil Johhny in the open-topped M10, M36, M7.

As for the Churchill - butt ugly as was stated, but longer-lived than the Matilda or the Cruiser variants. So; lotsa re-paint possibilites from a desert version to a post-Normandy version, - to a Korean War version if they do a Churchill Mk7.
I know a lot of plastic modelers would scarf up a Churchill Mk3 or 4 or 5 in droves, as these are not properly represented in ANY scale.

As for T34's, we already have 1/16th versions in static and R/C

The question is:
"What 21st probably already has waiting to be released?"

Easy:
Cold fusion technology that would wipe out need for foreign oil.

Ok I better hid now. 8)
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
