They are cool tanks

Post by toyktdlgh » Mon Oct 04, 2004 4:49 pm

I hope they show up at Wal Mart. I must say that I wish they were die cast. Maybe they are and BC has it labeled wrong but I doubt it.

Ahhhh yes, a winter white wash German halftrack would be very nice. That is one of my favorite vehicles. :D

new panther and sherman

Post by normandy » Tue Oct 05, 2004 2:52 pm

Tanks, bring them on. That winter Panther looks sweet. I've got 2 of the winter Shermans and they're fantastic. I think this Panther will be a boost for 21st's armor sales and who knows maybe a Panzer IV :D
I wouldn't mind if they were plastic, if your doing customs plastic cuts much easier than dicast

Maybe their could be a hint as to the Die-cast or not issue within the HTML filename for the Sherman page "usm4shmeta1b.html".

But I'm probably drawing a bit of a long bow on this one, seeing that there is nothing simular in the filenames of the other 2 tanks, so I’m probably horribly wrong :)

A diecast Sherman in the new colors would be nice, but I won't mind if its plastic. I'm just happy we get a chance at another one that has a decent, standard paintjob and that is going to the small retailers so that we don't have to deal with the Wal Mart distribution!

wal mart

Post by toyktdlgh » Thu Oct 07, 2004 1:38 pm

:?: Has any one heard if the Panther and Sherman will be at Wal Mart or are they online retailer exclusives?
If they are going to Wal Mart they should be showing up soon.

I would have to get one.........or two!

Post by Teamski » Sat Oct 09, 2004 4:59 pm

Yeah, I'm tired of repaints, but die cast winter tanks are pretty cool. The panther looks sharp. I am very much on my way of having my room completely capable of a seasonal look! Just swap out the Sherman, Tiger, Panther, Halftrack, jeep, Stuka and 109 to winter schemes and you have a beautful Christmas display!! Funny, but it changes the look of my room dramatically....

Andrew,

You can see a picture of it on the BCA website. Also shown is a new plastic Series 5 Sherman. They just keep kicking them out...........

mm.......looks good. I wish they'd given it a dark yellow base coat instead of dark grey but nevertheless it's a nice looking piece. Well, with the big news from BBI and some nice repaints from 21c things are looking up, armour-wise. Bout time too...

If you look at the discroption of the Panther it states there will be two crew men.
German Sd.Kfz. 171 Panther Tank in Winter Whitewash (#10122 S3) with two(2) German Tanker Figures. Plastic Construction.
Thats a plus seeings how I never got my hands on the BOB figures. And you gotta love the Sherman! This stuff stuff looks great. Now to get the money for all of it...

XD armor pushed back

Post by digger » Mon Oct 18, 2004 4:54 am

I take it the XD armor has been pushed back one week? I would have sworn the 20th was the date shown for a while & now it's the 27th. Some places that had the pre-order up have taken it down. I might just hold off on the new 21C M4 if only another week after that is the new bbi M4. Aside from the added markings towards the rear, the 21C M4 is same-ole, same-ole, right?

Recieved my shipping notification for the new XD Sherman from BCA today! I never managed to get the 1:18 XD example of this famous tank, so I'm excited. Rather than showing up a week late, these vehicles have shown up nearly a week early!!

21st must really be trying to get an edge on BBI with the release of the Panther and (normal looking) Sherman... They'll probably get it if they hurry up with the ME-109G, the P-47, Avenger, and all that new armor we've just seen!

I'm looking forward to getting hold of that new Panther. There's no such thing as "too many Panthers."

New Tiger

Post by tmanthegreat » Sat Oct 23, 2004 11:13 pm

The BCA website is showing a plastic version of the XD Winter Tiger up for sale, in addition to the new Panther and Sherman. It is aparently in the Ultimate Soldier pacakging and comes with two figures.

Is it just me or does the one in the photo look to have more winter wash on it - but the one below looks just like the WM version. Maybe the flash?
