1/18 M16A2s and and M240 Golf

Post by flpickupman » Tue Oct 24, 2006 11:45 am

Is anyone aware if BBi or another manufacturer produces these rifles? I'm tired of my modern Marines carrying Army rifles(M4s).

Powerteam have done M16A2s though as you know they are hit n miss on how rigid they are.
As for M16/203s I`d say check the Hasbro Joe line up (ARAH).

Alternatively you could custom make your own using various brands to get the Accurate size.

Hmm.. custom rifle building. Honestly, I'd be more than happy with just the A2s. M203s would be a bonus. Although I would need at least one M203 for my future LAR Scout team. Dang. I hate customizing little stuff. A Tiger tank, I can work with. Small arms (literally) would give me fits. So PTE has released an M16A2?

Also, has BBi released a carded armor crewman? I need one or two more guys to run my LAV.

Marauder has a very close to accurate M16w/203 for .75 a piece.Im hoping that Marauder makes the new M16a4 in his next series.

As mentioned, there are some M16s in various PowerTeam sets, though I don't recall seeing a M16-203.

However, Maraunder Inc. makes these:

The GIJoe line has had some pretty sharp looking M16s as well. For example:

http://www.yojoe.com/access/d89/119.shtml and especially:
http://www.yojoe.com/action/05/sgtstalker7.shtml (see accessories for this fig)

Marauder is the way to go if you're looking for low-cost and easy to obtain. With the joe weapons, you obviously usually have to get the fig too. But there is a tremendous variety of realistic (or usually semi-realistic) weapons to be had through all the figures. Peruse this database to see some of the goodies throughout the years:

No, they haven't. I think it is a very necessary figure, however! Not only do you need an extra driver for the LAV, but also the BBI M1 Tank and the 21c Bradley and M-113. You can potenitally customize your own figure using the helmet from the 21c Viet Nam tanker figures that are (or were) avaliable for surplus on the 21c site and the body of a modern figure w/o all the pouches. Its not entirely accurate, but doesn't look all that bad

Cool, thanks for all the links Parrish

Tman, if nothing else, I have enough surplus guys that I can have everyone wearing the same helmet. From the shoulders up is pretty much all that will be seen anyway. 8)

G'day flpickupman

I have the Marauder Inc M16/203 and it is a very fine and crisp piece indeed, the weapon is very rigid being I suspect a solid resin casting, the only negative is the lack of a trigger guard, however this can be easily be added from a PTE, 21stCT, etc M16.

With the 21stCT forest m1025 HMMWV if memory serves me correctly you get three average looking m16s in one of the baggies, these are ideal custom fodder for upgrading the Marauder Inc M16/203 for full on 1/18th use.

I was thinking that too. The Sig pistols that came with the Blackhawk crew have super delicate trigger guards. It took me all of 2 minutes to break one.

I have yet to see a rifle with A2 style handguards. Is anyone aware of such a thing being available?

The pte m16 has the a2 handguards. It is dead on in size comparison but the hndgrip tends to be a little big. Also it is not very rigid and tends to bend when figures have it in both hands.

Very nice. It's a shame they used the wrong handguards. I wouldn't turn it down if I was able to acquire one though.

Okay, after poking around my LAV, I'm expanding my weapons search. The pintle mount machinegun for the Vehicle Commander looks like it came right our of a PTE package. It has a pistol grip for pete's sake! I'm hoping that BBi has included the M240G with one of their figures that I can convert to a pintle mount M240 with the correct twin grips. Anyone know if this is the case?

I managed to locate a pretty good photo of the setup.

BBI put out a 240 with one of the latest weapons packs and one with a desert ops figure last year,USAF special forces b 21286.It is spot on in accuracy but has stock and handgrip but it should be easy to convert.

Shadow, how did you specify what you wanted in a way that they could tell which weapons pack? Was there a sku # or something?
