No Probs mate
As for your Ruskie NO hardware comment,Wrong there mate. Technically EVERYTHING released by XD for the WWII period WAS used by the Russians during WWII. Allied being part of the Lend Lease programme set up by the Allies (still wierd to see Sov`s using Universal Carriers, never mind the Sherman & Wearing US Tanker helmets too).
The German stuff of course captured.
So it IS feasible to have Soviet troops with Plenty of hardware.
Though those wanting Sov figures would like to see at least the T-34 tank too.....LOL

i dont agree that Russian figures would be peg warmers. Besides, they don't need to make a whole series of 6, like they usually do...they need to make 2.
One standard Russian soldier with PPSH and sniper rifle and one cold weather Russian soldier with PPSH and DP machine gun.
From those two figures you could build an army. And then we'd be more likely to see some Russian armour (eg T-34) to compliment.

Right on Aferg.. Those two combo's and lots of headswaps would pretty much kit out a small Russian platoon pretty quick.
As for the Japanese being pegwarmers, maybe you weren't around when wave 1 came out? It was like trying to pan for gold in Brooklyn! There were rumours, and the occasional sighting, but the well was pretty darn dry until S2 and S3 showed up.
All I say is get them while they last because after Eastwoods two new movies come out and even the new Band of Brothers - Pacific, they might end up being the today's fallschirmjagers or vietnam figures a year or two from now. $10-15 a pop, only on ebay.

new guys
I agree Russians would sell - just like the Japanese did as Grunt1 said. There must be a reason they ran off S2 & S3...eventually most things start to warm the shelves...even the original 21C figs eventually went on sale.
I think this is most likely. Again, I'm with SB & everyone else hoping for Brits and Ruskies, but I wasn't just talking about TKO's latest comment but all his comments on these figures over the last 2 months (Yes, I've been paying close attention). Besides, he said he has pics of 4, not that he only knows of 4.My favorite wave of 18 figures would be 9 americans and 9 germans.
So, the standard hands are not molded in a firing position, rather a "mitten" type of hand. However the solid molded arms to have a firing position hand.
I assume of course these are interchangable?
I hope that the solid arms are not solid through the hand as well, b/c if it is and with 21st record of drastically different sized sculpt connections, they have just given us a wave of entirely useless figures (like BOB in my opinion).
I hate it when a figure can't hold their weapon corrently, which is why I hate BOB and semi-hate the Marines.
I hope that the firing position hand can easily be attached to the good arms and looks good. I get the feeling that is going to be a big, no.
Sorry to gripe,
mike

Wait!
I just noticed something strange:
The first figure is what I was talking about, standard moving arms with mitten hands and solid arms with firing hards, but the other figure has that same ocnfiguration plus a seperate firing hand!
What is the deal with that? I assume this means the hands on the solid arms don't move and can't be swapped? So why give an extra good hand to one figure, but not all? At least it gives some hope of, in the very least, using that one good extra hand on all needed mods.
Oh well, that's better than nothing for sure.
Oh, and thanks again TKO, they do look great. Amazing in fact.

Ranger
I think the Ranger has the extra firing hand for the articulated arm so he can fire his pistol
I also doubt the static arm is solid through the hand - swivel wrist is key and it seems to be there.

Japs
Funny you ask because I would swear that "S2" and "S3" are basically the same thing but some people had said the colors were distinctly different. I'd love to see a side by side photo of the actual figures people believe to be S2 & S3...I think any difference can likely be contributed to a later run have a slightly different shade. Maybe not but I'm still not sold on S3 Japanese...

Oh and I just checked my own S2 Kudo, he also appears to have been censored (no Rising Sun bandana) which conflicts with the picture. Anyone have a legit (no headswapping now) S2 Kudo with the flag headband?

Does the release of a different package mean they're a 3rd release? S1 and S2 look the same to me. (From the pics you posted.) The headband is a different color. Are the uniforms a different color?

Series 1:
Name 1 (Japanese Imperial Army)
Color 1 (Green)
Headband 1 (Rising Sun)
Card Backing 1 (Rising Sun)
Series 2:
Name 2 (Imperial Marines)
Color 2 (Tan)
Headband 2 (White)
Card Backing 2 (Anchor)
Series 3:
Name 2 (Imperial Marines)
Color 1 (Green)
Headband 2 (White)
Card Backing 2 (Anchor)
And the mystery series (might have existed only in prototype):
Name 1 (Japanese Imperial Army)
Color 2 (Tan)
Headband 1 (Rising Sun)
Card Backing 1 (Rising Sun)
The mystery series should have been series 2, but the headbands and card backings were censored/removed (along with the Rising Sun flag the US marine was holding) apparently due to controversy.
The Chinese (where these are manufactured afik) are still understandably a bit upset over WWII.

Good to see what the S3 Japanese were. Although I don't think the uniform colors are that different, there is enough detail/packaging difference to refer to them that way.
Back to the new stuff - hey tko, we need another fix! I tell you what would be awesome - a/c ground crew like was shown with the Legends P51 or some soldiers with t-shirts.
