POST ALL A.T.'s ME-262 DISCUSSION HERE

Yeah I know what you are saying I did get a BBI mustang for "Evaluation" for a breif moment in time it was the best 1:18 P-51 money could buy. Once the new 21st D model came out I gave the BBI bird the boot. Now a neighborhood kid has it. I have decided not to spend any more money on products that duplicate in subject matter.

I will take a stab in the dark, but I think 21st will add engine access panels and maybe a little more detail in the cockpit, or a different variant but they will basically be the same thing, A good product.Sabrefan wrote:TKO, can you give us any clues to what the 21st Century ME-262 will have that the Admiral version does not? Any info would be great.
Btw I thought this was Admiral Toys Me-262 thread not 21st Me 262 thread, or all about 1/18 Me-262’s

I think engine access is a good candidate for inclusion on the 21c model, as well as a cockpit headrest and perhaps moving aeilerons. All that as well as optional ordinance like bombs and the R4M rockets. That way, one could convert the plane into either the fighter or "Jabo" variants. Apart from those features (of which only the ordinance is critical to me) the AT ME-262 will be a tough plane for 21c to beat.

You have that right Tman. Admiral Toys ME-262 is definitely going to be a hard one for 21st to beat. Everyone has to remember that this is only their second model. I have a feelling things are going to get even better and more surprising with Admiral Toys as time goes on.....tmanthegreat wrote: Apart from those features (of which only the ordinance is critical to me) the AT ME-262 will be a tough plane for 21c to beat.

Hey folks, just returned from the WOH Airshow and got a look at the ME 262 and it is a must have. The prototype looked great but Jason said there would even be a few additional touches to the interior so this is going to be the best yet. I suggest you get your orders in now. Anyone on the fence about this one-you will not be disappointed.

Did anybody pre-order the ME-262 from Bad Cat back when they first announced it? I noticed now the pre-order price is almost $11 higher than it was back then. Will those that pre-ordered in July still get it at the lower price? Bad Cats site says they should be shipping around Nov 24 or so!!! Gonna have to put another hook in the overhead

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster with a question about the 262.
Will they release a 'Grey' color version of this aircraft? I'm not familiar with this current color scheme, all the photos I have seen are without any paint. But it is very sharp looking!!
I own the Avenger, Spitfire, P40N Warhawk, the White Stuka and the Grey Stuka along with 13 armored and soft skinned vehicles all in 1/18th scale.
Thanks for any feedback and what a great forum!

The Admiral Toys ME-262 is spot-on to an aircraft flown by Maj. Walter Nowotny, who was commander of the fighter group known as "Kommando Nowotny" in Germany during 1944. This was one of the first operational ME-262 units and served as a demonstration of sorts for the capabilities of this aircraft as a fighter/interceptor. AT has done a good job replicating the early variants of the ME-2621A, including the omission of the ordinance racks and even the headrest in the cockpit. The plane is very accurate and (at least from what the pictures show) is as detailed as most planes currently offered by the BBI & 21c competition

I haven't seen many Grey 262's (EDIT, the new 21C 1:32 262A seems grey, I stand corrected!) - usually they have some shade of green it seems. As Tman said the AT version is a fine representation.
The best PreOrder price I found was at MTS:

Still, with this bird going for 60-70 b/f shipping I would love to get a look at the 21C version asap to make a decision. If the 21C version is due this year as alleged then it should be right on the heels of the AT one. However I wouldn't be shocked if the 21C version turns into an 07 release...

I am really looking forward to getting the Admiral ME-262. I can imagine the paint job will be awesome. The camo paint on the German CL-13 Sabre is just about the best paint work I have seen on a 1:18th scale model. The ME-262 should be really nice.

It's been a long road, but I am still in the game.

White 3 & White 5 were Grey. I don't think only night fighters were Grey, maybe one of the Luftwaffe guys could comment.aferguson wrote:the only 'grey' 262's i know of were the night fighter versions...of which the AT is not one (yet).
262 time!
Sorry for the double but this is news
UPDATE 11/14/06--We are expecting to ship on or about 11/20/2006 from Admiral's warehouse in TX directly to our Preorder customers. We are now processing all Preorders in preparation for the big day!!

Technically, the Nightfighters weren't Grey, they were in the base color of RLM66 (Lichtblau) lightblue with a grey mottling painted on top and black undersides.. VERY late in the war many Me-262s were issued to the frontlines without camoflage in just the lightblue base color and sometimes even primered..aferguson wrote:the only 'grey' 262's i know of were the night fighter versions...of which the AT is not one (yet).
