POST ALL A.T.'s ME-262 DISCUSSION HERE

Post by Dubar1 » Sun Jul 09, 2006 4:59 pm

Sorry if this has been mentioned but this morning BadCat had the AT ME-262 up for pre-order. First place I've seen it.

Said it was for a Sept delivery.

This is the one I have been waiting for...well, always! I passed on every other plane except the P-38 Lightning...can't wait to get it home!
Looks great!

I switched my Avenger order over to the 262. I really wanted that Bunker Hill Avenger but they don’t seem to think they will be getting it. I have always wanted this ME 262. I think its going to be a fine piece.

Fine and VERY accurate. I have a reference book on the ME-262 which consists of very detailed technical photos and descriptions of surviving examples. The AT cockpit is spot on, as are the gunbays and of course the shape of the aircraft. I would love it if they included some ordinance such as optional bombs and R4M rockets, although those were probably not carried by this particular aircraft and hence, would be inaccurate. I guess that's where the 21c version will pick up.

My 1:18 Kettenkraft will finally have something to tow...

Post by Just1more » Tue Jul 11, 2006 4:33 am

When I built my 1:18 kettenkraft so many years ago it was in anticipation of the 21st Century 262 coming out... and like the Avenger it never materialized so I had to mothball it, but now thanks to AT it will finally have something to justify its existence :D

Just1more,
That looks GREAT! That is just what I was thinking about having, as you ALWAYS see the film of the Kettenkrad pulling the 262 out on the tarmac! Man, I need to find a way to build one!
Great Job! :o

P.S. Will 21st be doing a Me-262 now???

Any guesses on what the S-2 release will be? It seems Admiral releases their paint schemes in pretty rapid fire fashion...given the Sabre's release rate.

For those that missed it, I posted some new photos of the ME 262 in the “Direct from the Source” forum. Here are the photos that are posted, just in case you don’t want to click on that thread.

Boxy30, I have a really good idea of what P2 (Paint 2) will be of the ME 262. It has been approved by all and soon to enter production. You will just have to wait and see. Or buy a ticket to the Wings Over Houston Airshow and take a look at it for yourself!

Regards,
Jason

Oh please tell me you did not just pull a Mike "wait-n-see" on me?..lol...

Actually for me this is the hottest most anticipated 1/18th aircraft to date. I cannot imagine anything topping this plane...lots-o-history on this one.

On a separate note:

Jason, Flyboys is being released this Friday and The Red Baron is due next year any additional consideration to WWI?..the iron might be getting hot for an opportunity?

Thanks
Scott

Jason,
The ME-262 model is just beautiful. I am such a fan of the early jets, can't wait to get this one. :D

Don't know if this has been mentioned but the AT website has more photos of the 262 and it is VERY sweet. The instrument panel looks unreal.

Agreed! This ME-262 just keeps looking better and better! The cockpit detail far exceeds the F-86 and the paintscheme looks great! This release puts the products from upstart Admiral Toys up there with the big guys of 1:18 scale production. Apart from the inclusion of ordinance, 21c is going to have to do something really extraordinary with their plane like opening engines or rototing turbines to compete. Way to go AT :D

I am really impressed by the gunsight. That is what caught y eye about the cockpit. But, the bird is an allover winner. I am glad I prepaid my order already.

Come on, TKO, you know you really want it! I mean, Mr. Sutherland and Mr. Allen aren't going to fire you as the fanclub president if you wind up purchasing a little of the competition :P

That is unless there is something about the 21c ME-262 you know and aren't telling us

That is unless there is something about the 21c ME-262 you know and aren't telling us - Quote from TTT.

-Answer... That's what I'm saying.

Don't get me wrong, the 262 shown from AT looks good, better than most BBI offerings in fact... however in the end the 21st version will have some advantages.

I really wish I could talk about the specific details on the 21st version but 21st says no for the moment. I guess we just have to wait it out.
