I think Mike hinted@a dauntless when the first BBI info thread first started as well.

Tis a shame for the bunker hill avenger, I remember most of you being excited for it when it was first announced. I feel bad for you guys. It was the best color scheme too IMHO

And I got a sneaky suspicion that the discount retailer was TRU...

No chance. It would be sweet but I really don't think so.

I would not read too much into the Dauntless in terms of 1:18. BCA just rec'd shipment on a 1:72 Dauntless.

I would :D
They have only had 1:18 AC in that spot since they redesigned the site - and the Dauntless they just got has a different scheme. 8)

But they also have the same color scheme Dauntless available, perhaps it came in before the new repaint did. Check their hobby master section.

Ahh man, I was going to jump on the 1/18 Dauntless bandwagon as well.

Somebody mentioned too many Pacific planes? Or too many Pacific paint schemes?

We have the Corsair and...

Dauntless

Post by JimBob55 » Wed Jul 12, 2006 6:44 pm

Boy, I would LOVE a 1:18 Dauntless!!!! :D :D :D

It looks to me that it is the Hobbymaster SBD in the photo. But I wouldn't put it past BBI or Admiral for one of the mysterious releases later this year!

We'll wait and see. Meanwhile my carrier is circling and waiting for the belated arrival of the Avengers. Mitscher is figuring whether he's going to have to turn on the landing lights after dark! :D

Whatever the three new aircraft are, I'm sure they will be great. I'm hoping that one is the bbi Hellcat.

I think I owe BCT a big apology!!! I'd (not directly) slammed them earlier. After seeing that Military Toys still offers the Atlantic Avenger, but not the actual ability to order it, it appears that BCT was only letting us know the real world.

Thats sucks about the fate of the Bunker hill Avenger, but I'm still kind of pinning my hopes on the George Bush painted Avenger. I have no idea when they're releasing that paint scheme though. Has anyone seen the Historicaviation website lately. They have the atlantic and a whole bunch of flight 19 variants for order, but they don't mention preorders at all. I'm wondering if Historicaviation has a bunch on their hands all ready.

Just got off the phone with them, and they said that they are not expected in until Late August/Early September. What do they know that we don't?

I see that historicaviation.com also supposedly has the M48 die cast tank.
Wonder if it's really in stock? If they had the Avenger in stock right now I'd pull the trigger.

That's why I called them. If it was in stock, I would have sent the $$$$ pronto. Nothing from them about if or when other than expected Late Aug early Sept.

I'd ordered the F-16 from them (Historic Aviation) back in march, looked like it was in stock. The e-mail I'd gotten from them said that it was back-ordered. About a month later I'd inquired about the status of this order, their response was that there are production problems and they will advise me if I wish to keep the back-order open. About a month after that they called me saying it will be available and sent in October if I still want it. I'm keeping this order open with them despite the initial "in stock or not" impression due to noone else had it either and they were the 1st to advise of the available date (even calling long distanct to Alaska) that others are now showing.

I think its time we get over the Avenger thing guys. 21st will deliver it soon or later. For now I've put it in the back of my mind.

Besides I want to know when or if 21st ever plans on releasing the Big Beautiful Doll 1/18th P-51? I was very impressed with my Petie The 2nd P-51 but BBD would be a dream to own because I love that 51's paint scheme.

Those are custom, hand built airplanes and are very pricey. The detail is up there.

Actually, the Avenger is really not an urban myth (as some guys think). My WWW has pics I took at this years Toy Fair in NYC.

It looked great, and I loved the Flight 19 version with the two Aliens in the center cocpit. 8)

I'll just keep waiting............
