1:18 Jagdpanther G II Zerstörer
This is a custom project I did many years ago...but I never liked the finished look of it. Last month I ordered some Battleground Models
"Panther Tank Track Links-Full Set" and gave the old panther a new paint scheme and some added details.
This tank destroyer never existed, only on paper...but what the heck, modeling is supposed to be fun.
The chassis and lower hull is from the 21st Cent. Panther G most everything else is styrene sheet.

Re: 1:18 Jagdpanther G II Zerstörer
In 2001 I came across a book by Edward F NcCrane, Exotic Panzers in Miniature. published by Schiffer military history books.
One of his projects was this Panther variant in 1:35.
By this time I was collecting and doing custom projects in 1:18, so thats how it started.
As I stated at the start, the basic tank was a 21st Panther G with some parts reused the rest is styrene sheet and recently snap
together Panther Track Links from Battleground.
Over the years I've built Bandi 1:48, Tamiya 1:35 and Monogram 1:32. At a point the price of those makers kits was approaching
that of a 1:18 21st Century Toys model. 1:6 was to big and for me 1:18 was just the right scale...I could see it and easy to work on.
This tank would have been impractical, height would have been about 11' tall, a good target and the Panther was a fine tank. So it made no
sense for Germany to produce it, thats how this one came to be.

This one is from the net, photoshopped...not mine

never heard of this and even searching online there's virtually nothing. I assume it had the same 88mm gun as the Jagdpanther?

Hey Andrew, these paper panzers are a mix of proposed ideas and molders have taken artistic license with armament, design and paint schemes.
Short answer...mine, same 88mm gun as the Jagdpanther, minus the muzzle brake.
If you search Jagdpanther II you'll come up with many different versions.
