Using Battleground Models Duck Bill End Connectors

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Jul 09, 2020 4:35 am

Hey Guys .

I made my duck bill end connectors years ago .
With the pouring method I had to cut a resin flow vent through the back of each.
They have to be sanded off and in some cases filled with putty re-sanded and so on.
Going through this process I had it down to a 4 hour install from start to finish in an 8 hour day.

So I gave Grunts duck bills a try .
First there was no clean up that needs to be done .
I was able to go from the plastic bag directly to tracks.
I tried to go at crusing speed and it took me 1 hour to attach all of the duck bill tabs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Using thick gel CA glue I put a drop of glue on the track end and held the tab for about 20-30 seconds until the glue grabbed.
Skipping a link I attached the next one using the same method.
By skipping a link allows you to not disturb the one you have just stuck.
Once done with a track side I gave it an over spritz of the CA glue kicker.
Starting on the next track MACK SURE YOU GLUE THE TABS TO THE CORRECT SIDE OF THE TRACK.
LOOK AT THE CHEVRONS, YOU NEED A LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE .

That's very impressive Pickel, looks great. I like the idea the parts
are ready to go and all that time saved...time for more builds. :)
