(Somewhat) New American Diorama figs

American Diorama has released four MP figures as a follow-up to their drivers and infantryman...I came across these quite a few weeks ago but
I keep changing my mind whether I want them or not...the sculpting of the weapons is the weakest aspect...the Thompson gunner seems to be the best of the lot but when posed together (in front of a hummer, no less) they sort of evoke four hipsters on the way to a costume party :)

Check them out at https://www.diecastmodelswholesale.com/ ... n-diorama/

What do you think, worth picking up?

If you're looking for an honest opinion....No. Especially not for over $40. The molded on weapons look really bad. They look like someone painted some old green army men. They remind me of some of the poorly done, bulky 1/30 and 1/32 stuff.

Really surprised by the poor detail in these (and yeah, the facial hair, too WTF) I've gotten a few of their female figurines, and the detail on those is OK. Not quite as good as the Fast Women brand from years ago, though. Guess I hadn't thought about the fact there isn't much out there for 1:18 military diorama figurines.

Not only the facial hair is disturbing. 3 of 4 are looking to the sky. Are they air trafic control MP? Or only looking to a tank commander in his turret?

Those figures look like junk and what the heck is up with their rifles? If you need good WWII figures, just track down some of the old 21st or BBI figures or get some of the new Marauder Task Force WWII figures.

I haven't posted anything here because my photobucket account was out of action.
I have 8 of these figures, the weapons are way over scaled and yes the facial hair
on some of them is not right but these can be fixed. If these figures are not the focus of a display
or diorama they're not that bad.

Those figures look to me more like in the 50's era than in the 40's

You may be right Eddy, but they do remind me of the Forces of Valor 1:18 WWII US figures.

The American Diorama figures will work for what I need, paint over any beards and replace their weapons
with 1:18 scale.

and why would you need MP's??

Image

Just an idea.

Now you're talking my friend, that is a great idea.

Are those weapons renovable?

I know for a guy with your skills they should not be difficult to replace if they're fixed.

"Are those weapons removable?"

Eddy they are removable with some care, they're glued to the body and hand (s).

I found some 21st, FOV and BBI parts/weapons to show the scale difference.

See any difference??

The guy with the BAR is closest to scale

Some work started...

The weapons put up a fight, each rifle had a wire in it.

Extra parts are helpful, 21st and FOV hands...left and right.

I passed on these figures until now. I didn't believe that anything could be done to them to make them look better. I now know that they can. Thanks Normandy!
