Russian markings

Post by Cascabel » Fri Dec 27, 2019 1:59 pm

Regarding the lettering seen on the turrets of WWII Russian tanks, are the words political slogans, dedications, or something else entirely ? I've always been curious about that. Similar things are sometimes seen on Soviet aircraft.

I believe they are both, some political slogans and others dedications.
Sometimes towns people would donate money and pay to have a tank
built for the war effort and a dedication put on.

Verlinden had a 1:16 decal sheet with some Russian slogans and the translation.

similar to this one.
