Man, I should have waited. I could have gotten two HMMWV's for the price I paid. And I bought mine from that same company, too. And of course right now there's still some jerk who's got a handful of them for $60 a pop on evilbay.

I don't collect modern so forgive me, but whats up with that BBI M113 ?
It doesn't look 1:18 and does look very toy like...I guess if one can't find a 21st XD
then $10.00 is a good price.

Yeah... Notice how they say the figure is 1:18, not the M113. Makes me wonder what the eff BBI was thinking. Some guys at the company had to be scratching their heads over it, right? I mean, the construction and detail for the HMMWV are not the best, but they are still OK. And the plastic is strong enough to get the job done. You can see where corners were cut, but you know they were making a toy to be played with. So you get one and customize, correct, etc, etc. So... Why couldn't they just do the same with the M113? Make it full 1:18 and just cut a few corners maybe with interior detail and stationary treads with the little rolling wheels on the bottom. People will still buy them up, either for their kids to destroy, or collectors/customizers who will fix them up and display them. I guess if BBI execs knew they were gonna make the money either way, why put in the extra effort?

In stark contrast to the initial run of BBI (prior to 2007-2008) which seemed to emphasize a standard of detail and realism geared toward collectors, it was clear the BBI line from 2014-15 was targeted towards kids only. That’s why the figures were simpler in construction, vehicles out of scale, more simplistic designs, etc. It was such a dip in quality from where they were nearly a decade before...

I feel bad that you guys still trying to keep 1/18 afloat have to make do with such inaccurate, poorly-scaled kiddie toys. I appreciate the attempts at modifying them to get them more in tune with reality, but the fact remains that you can only do so much, and some things you are stuck with, like the fact it is WAY undersized. Nothing you can do about that short of rebuilding it from the ground up.

I don't have you guys's strength in this regard; if it doesn't look right I just go without.

I think BBI just re-used the molds of the original Humvee with some add-ons, so it's more 1/18th accurate. The M-113 looks more like it would be 1/32th scale, but to make it better, there is a lot of work...
