SDKFZ 251/23 Turret

Post by pickelhaube » Tue Jan 16, 2018 4:34 pm

Hey Guys ,

Here a new topic to vote on.

I have been contact by several guys who want the 251 Hanomag with the Sdkfz type turret 251/23

It looks as a stop gap measure they did use original 222 turret on top of the.

This is good because that is done !!!

But as the war progressed they made a purposfull elongated turret.

The new turret had the same weapons system but it was elongated and the front and back were more streamlined omitting 2 of the facetts front and back.

What would you guys like ?

Original Sdkfz 222 turret

The poll is for the guys who actually want this mod.

Hmmmm......

Not a lot of interest.

Perhaps the days of these types of mods have come and gone .

It has been a while since I have looked into this mod and I have forgotten some of he key facts of the SDKFZ 251/23 .

First it was a concept that was to use the turret of the SDKFZ 234/1 8 rad ( 8 wheel ) .

Image

This may or may not have happened . There is no record proof or pictures.

So it could be said that there was a possibility that either turrets could have been used.

Depending on the availabilty of both turrets.

So , here in modern times the only turret available in 1 1/8th is my Sdkfz 222 turret .

So that is the one I will choose.

Unless there turns out to be a big demand for the 234 style turret.

The 222 turret would be best from what I have read that was the turret the prototype design had

Well with minimum work and frozen fingers I mounted the 22 turret on the 251 .

As mods go once you build the turret it will mount on the 251 in a matter of minutes .

All you have to do is snip off the rails along the walls and the roof in.

$45 plus shipping.

The turret and 251 roof plate sales for $45 plus $7 for shipping.

I am selling only the 222 turret at this time.

The longer version will be made after I get through all of the HIND kits.

Matthew,
the 22 turret is fine for me and my customizing projects.
I´ll take 2 of them but did not need the 251 roof plate.
Will send you a PM

Thanks
Sven

All kits are made packed and ready to ship.

All 251 turrets ,222 and 223 sales have been pulled off of e-bay and it is time to get back on the HIND .

I will keep my concrete barriers up on ebay because they are made from left over resin.

I got a little more done on the 251/23, the pic not the best but it gives an idea of how the turret looks
on the vehicle. Haven't put the cage on yet....

This is the 21st 251 I used, I can't remember the series. Anyway its the white 13 with the white
Grossdeutschland Division marking on it and green dark yellow camo. I removed the 13 and the
white GD emblem and I added the red brown, green and dark yellow as needed.
