Hydrospan works and God willing my first project will be done soon and a list of others to boot. After those I am wondering what would be the most popular to produce. I know that 1/18 is not what it was. I have seen the amount of time and money Mathew has put into his Hind and shutter. I will do one WW2 fighter at a time after these current projects. Here are my candidates.

LaGG 3 (Finnish/soviet summer/winter)
Typhoon
Do335
He 162

I would love your feedback!

I would also love one however I don't know how many are into Soviet stuff, personally my favorite stuff is Eastern Front and late war paperpanzer/aircraft. The IL-2 is as big as the typhoon but would likely sell much less but I could be wrong.

I would vote for the DO335. I've seen it while I was in Washington few months ago. An awesome aircraft.

I personally would love to see a LaGG-3, but I don't think it will be a very popular choice. The LaGG-3 is an important aircraft because it was the most numerous Soviet single-engine fighter until 1943, and it formed the basis for the superlative La-5 & 7; however, in and by itself, the LaGG-3 was a pretty mediocre design, and I don't think many people here will have heard of it. Therefore, it would probably not generate too much interest. Also keep in mind when doing an LaGG-3 that this aircraft is a bit of a minefield to get right: because of its poor performance, it was subject to constant modification in an attempt to improve performance. As a result, there are a whole range of different Series, which have myriads of minor and major differences. To compound things further, the production plants producing the aircraft were in a kind of competition to come up with improvements, and as a result, even within a series there are marked differences between aircraft from different plants. The most accurate kits in 1/48 of the LaGG-3 are those produced by ICM, and possibly AModel

The Typhoon is sure to be a popular choice.

I'd love a Do 335 - but there are the questions of size and cost: it's a huge aircraft that would be very expensive to produce in 1/18.

The He 162 is apparently already being done by Aracula on the forum, so it would probably not be a good idea to duplicate efforts.

I'd love an Il-2 - it's one of the most important aircraft of the Second Worl War, and it did paly a decisive role in the Soviet victory. But again, it's a pretty big and expensive model... Also, the Il-2 also was produced in many different versions, and with some fairly important differences between aircraft from different plants; all these differences have now been well-documented in the book by Victor Povedkin. So, if you do a model of the Il-2, it's really important to decide first which version, from which factory you want to model.

I appreciate all of your input! Some of you mentioned size as a factor to consider for production and it should be. The Do335, IL-2 and Typhoon are all large aircraft but all amazing and deserve to be done, there are twin engine aircraft that I would love but they would be done in some future date such as the me110 and/or mosquito.

I hear you, it's been my favorite since I was a kid. In 1/18 it would be huge!

I agree, to Do 335 is a fantastic aircraft - and it would make an absolutely impressive model in 1/18!

Mathew told me many months ago that a friend of his was making the Do335 but I have heard nothing else.
