$100 that is reasonable but $60 shipping is a little high.

Interesting. This kit is on its way to becoming a mystery like the Merit prebuilt was for several years. The only reference anywhere I've found is this one eBay ad:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/TOP-MODEL-HOBBYB ... Swu~ZZcuCV

Says distributed by Glow2B. Checked their website and there is nothing about such a kit.
Here we go again.

The absurd shipping is a deal breaker for sure assuming this kit actually does exist. :?

I found this on Large Scale Planes:

Looks like HobbyBoss is making it.

Thanks! I see it comes with two marking choices. One is the same as the pre-built. The other is like the box art. Still no indication if it is going to be distributed in the U.S. Hobbylink, Japan has it as does a German outfit. Shipping is the deal killer for those.

I'd love to know why Merit (or whatever Chinese factory was calling the shots) went with The Herman Graff paintjob as opposed to the Joseph Priller one. I mean, I know Graff was a high scoring ace that flew brightly-colored planes, but he mostly flew BF-109s and only flew the FW-190 for a few months when attached to a training unit. Priller flew mostly FW-190s in combat and has the D-Day connection. I would have preferred Priller's plane had been the first scheme, but oh well  Should this kit become available in the US, I will strongly consider it!

T-Man, you said it. Brightly colored scheme. Marketing people will always want attention getters where possible. Look at 21st Century. P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll", FW-190D candy cane stripes, Yellow nosed Stukas and Me-109E started those series. If there's a gaudy scheme out there vs. a more subdued plain-Jane, the gaudy will get the nod keeping in mind these were supposed to be kid's toys too like ones that come with all the flashy stickers. A 110 piece kit is more an adult hobby item.

"Breaking News"

Hobby Boss listed MMD-Squadron as one of their distributors. I contacted them yesterday via e-mail and they already replied this morning :o that they anticipate having the model for distribution by mid-October :!: Very encouraging. :) Cautious optimism.

Just checked MMD Squadron. The Hobby Boss FW kit is in stock! Now we just have to find retailers that will offer it.

The retail version of Squadron has the fw 190 at $123.99 supposedly in stock.

Just ordered it! Great price! Thanks!

Now the race is on to have it built and completed before our full sized one is. 8)

Of course, mine will never fly...

Very cool! I just ordered one as well. I have the pre-built version in Hermann Graf's livery that I got from China, but would love to do one in Priller's livery using the other decals... My only issue is that I have a stack of about 6-8 kits to finish at some point, including my massive and extremely-detailed 1/32 B-17... But I will probably try to knock out the FW-190 as it seems to be a relatively simple kit all things considered!

Just ordered mine with free shipping from Squadron. So, now I'll have an unbuilt 1:18 FW-190 and Dauntless Kits and the HK 1/32 B-17E/F.
One day i'll get to them.

Oh my! If you start now, you might have the B-17 engines finished by 2020. :P

I've got more than my share of projects going simultaneously. I think this FW goes to the front of the line. 8)

Sounds great! Whoever gets there first please take a picture of the decal sheet. Also I looked on the website but it says Members Only? Where are you buying them? What was the final out-the-door price with shipping?

Like me, you are confusing the wholesale and retail sites. Try:

https://www.squadron.com/HobbyBoss-1-18 ... y81802.htm

Price dropped again! What the heck?

Anyway, shipping is reasonable. You might be a bit farther than me.

I got my shipping confirmation in 2 different e-mails, one set was on both and then there was another random set. I'll have to log in and check. I paid $123 for mine with free shipping over $50 to the lower 48, I'm in Alaska, so i got it shipped home. If the price keeps coming down I might get another to hold onto and see if anyone does any customs for them.

***Anyone get 2 different tracking numbers? I got a 15 digit one and 20 digit one both shipped by FDX.

Only got one FedEX and it's 12 digits but the link doesn't work. This is a big veteran company that should have its act together on something so basic.

So, I checked the link on my account, which doesn't work. I then cut and paste both of my tracking numbers onto FEDEX tracking since it says shipped by FDX and there was my package. I then realized it is going FEDEX SmartPost which the 2nd set of tracking numbers is for USPS and checked those and there it was also! Looks like Oct 30th delivery, but I don't fly home till Nov 18th, hurry up and wait!

It came :!: :D

There are more parts than I expected. Looks like much more than just a pre-built unassembled. They retained the screw holes but have cover panels, not plugs for them. Actual recessed areas where a rectangle piece covers it. Very clever.

The engine is just a representation which makes sense as it won't be seen. Kudos for the simplification. There are smaller scale kits out there that have more parts in just back halves of engines and other areas you can't see than this entire kit. Ex.: the 1/32 B-25 and B-17. No retractable landing gear. On the other hand, the cowl guns and gun bay are included with a hinge system to raise the cover. I much prefer the Priller markings and scheme to the Graf which is mainly why I never bought it, even though it doesn't represent Priller's D-Day 190A-8. Not a weekend project but likely not a 5 year project either. Now if we could only get extra sets of the landing gear to help our poor D models.

Trying hard to resist starting it. I have too many other projects I'm determined to finish first!

I'll post some pictures of the kit parts unless someone beats me to it.
