No Trademarks are owned by N Grumman, Lockheed Martin, & Elbit Systems Ltd, an Israeli defense firm and they do not license IP anymore. I'm not sure who else may own the Design Trademarks. The "Warthog" is a USAF Trademark. Old tooling can be used and previous contracts may be honored, but Ebit Systems is notorious for going after IP violations ( sued a plush toy maker ). You can get around it my making it very toy like and not calling a it a A-10 Warthog, or Thunderbolt II .. but then you have to worry about any DOD IP ..

This blocks just about anyone who is not a millionaire.

You may have to wait till the "Super A-10" ever becomes a reality, or the USMC decided to employ the A10 ( operational til 2022 ) as the f-35A cannot utilize the USMC best CAS assets as of now. The DOD wants 2 CAS specific aircraft, We know what two are most likely to may fulfill the 1st requirement , but the 2nd is still unknown. Interesting to hypothesize what a heavy CAS aircraft may look like with block 5 & 6 tech and will it have fly by wire ? On the deck Fly By Wire would be a bad idea. I think we need to let pilots be pilots.

Well I will confirm a don't know .

The HIND project was going to be a test to see how bigger high end models will do on the market .

I thought $300 would be a good starting point .

I WAS WRONG .

The way it is going now after each kit is made and the reality with the cost of all the resin and sub outs .

I am making a profit of about $40-$50 per unit.

Not to mention it takes about 2-1/2 days to make one unit. Divide 440-$50 by 2.5 days and you can see were I am at.

In hind sight I should have charged $450-$550 but I am sure I would not have sold over 40 at that price.

Probably 10-20 .

The A-10 is probably twice the size or volume .

Learning what I have from the HIND the ticket 0n the A-10 will be $700-$800 if not more and of course full builds will be twice that.

That means I will sell any were from 5-20 units .

I invested around $2,000 for 3D printing for a third of the HIND and built the rest from scratch.

The HIND project took me over 3 years and I am in the middle of production now.

I will not spend 3 years of my life on another project.

Our plans ( I have a few backers for the A-10 who are ready to go ) are to print a fully 3D printed prototype of the A-10 that I will have to make a final prep for production.

Est. cost on the 3D printed prototype $6,000-$8,000 .

So when the time comes polls will be made and tears would be shed .

Next year.
