Jnewboy Customs and Pickelhaube Customs

Post by Jnewboy » Sun Apr 23, 2017 7:13 pm

This past 2 years have been hard, not only because of work but because a lack of time to do anything else but work, including modeling. I have though continued to work with HydroSpan and after around $3k in supplies used in trial and error I have perfected my technique. Right now I have the bottom of the Lippish, the Rufe Floats, La-5, I-16, Natter, Focke-Wulf Triebflügel & Ta-152 all expanding in my tank. I have struck a deal with Pickelhaube to assist in turning the parts I send him into kits, taking orders and sending out the kits. There is no one I trust more for the job. Admiring his customs and the Woofers customs are the reason I got into doing 1/18 to begin with.

After those 1/18 projects are done I will entertain requests but at the top of my list is the me-110, the he-219, the Mosquito and the Do-335. Also an Hs-129 w/75mm cannon would be impressive.

If not opposed to modern stuff just not that into it, however I would love a Mig21.

None of this will happen until Pickel’s Hind project is complete. Its an amazing project and it deserves its own spotlight. He is aware that a few of you have paid for your Lippish already. I am happy that we will all finally see the fruits of my labor and I hope that our combined talents working together will bring some of you back to collecting and others to the hobby for the first time.

Well this is great news Jon! Teaming up with Matthew on this project and others to come
will be a big boost to 1:18. I'm looking forward to this Lippisch P13a.

The Lippish is almost done on my end and when Mathew is totally done with his hind project he will start on it. Please respond back to this post with your original order and quantity. Also other kits will be soon following as they are all being created at the same time. I will be starting additional threads two gauge interest in the others when the Lippish is done.

Thank you to everyone for being so patient!

@Jnewboy:
I´ve paid you for the Lippisch many months ago. Now I should order from Matthew??
Got some problems with understanding. Maybe because of my english skills.
Please help me out.

No, your order is still good. I want everyone who has an order for the Lippish to reply to this thread with what their order was so there are no mistakes.

I ordered one 1/18 P13a kit (Plane, Dolly, Pilot and Decals) $200.
This is going to be a very cool model.

After talking to Mathew today he has decided to not produce the Lippish. He feels like there will be little interest in it beyond what has already been and so he will make little money. He may help me produce some of the others after the Lippish.

I will produce it, it wont be hard, the dollys are done and as there are only a few kits anyway and a few full builds.

Thank you to all of you who have been patient. One of our members has requested a refund but the money has already been spent on silicon for the project, he then demanded I send him my He-219 instead or he says he will sue me!!

I know he is the exception around here and the rest of you are good chaps.

The final casting of the Lippish will be made next week and I will post some pictures.

Sorry for the late reply - I'm only checking the forum intermittently. I also ordered a kit from you (21 January 2016). Sorry to hear about your troubles, and very much looking forward to this model - and your other projects!

OK it is time for me to chime in.

I have been making customs for years .
I first started out with some personal projects posting them on this forum.
After posting some step by step pictures , I was contacted from forum members asking if I could make copies.
Pickelhaube Customs was born.
I would make the prototypes get them out on the forums and after I was done I accepted money to make copies.
This went on for a while as I built up my reputation.
As time went by I would propose a new build and people were happy to give me front money .
This still continues to this day.

Jon has been a custom builder a few years .
He mostly was a semi build custom painter .
He came upon a new molding system that was to revolutionize custom build.
In some ways it has fallen short.
He has started a new project and has invested tons of money from customers and his own.
By being new in the market he has not established himself as of yet.
He ran into some issues and asked if I could join in on his newest project.
Being in his shoes at one time I said yes that I could help him.
Time went by and I got more involved with my projects .
Figuring that I have not seen any type of prototype from him and figuring what he would have ( when it comes out of the water)would be questionable .
I decided to back out of his project.
That and there was not really much in the project for me.

He reassures me that he will make good on his Lipp project and he will fill his orders .
I hope he will do what he says , so this hobby can go back to being fun.
This 1/18 scale hobby has taken so many hits that I am surprised that all of us are still around.
I am doing my part so it will and hopefully Jon will as well .

Oh I forgot

John Wayne : Mine was taller
