Some may be familiar with Marauders Gun Runners that has had a number of successful Kickstarters and now offers a wide range of modern weapons, male, and female figures. They just announced the following on their Facebook page:

"Marauder "Gun-Runners" If we are working on a large project, we will make our intentions known early in the process. Here is the "official" notice that we are planning a World War 2 series of figures and weapons. More details to follow, but now we are on record so if others annonce similar projects, our project is not a surprise. ;-) MJ".

As they fund their projects through Kickstarter this process will take years but it is exciting news for WWll enthusiasts.

WWII has been done.

I wish they would do WW1 figures and weapons.

Great news. Anyone have their other figures on hand that can report in on how good they are? That's probably a decent indicator on what we'll get with WW2 (or WW1 Pickel!). :-)

Good news. I hope to see some Brits Figures.

Question, what type of figure body you going to use? BBI, Hasbro, Tieka toys or 21 century?

I participated in their kickstarter campaign. I have the desert tan figure. They are more like GI Joe figures than 21st Century figure. Their legs are very flexible. You can add vests to each figure that you can able to attach items.

They're done by Hasbro sculptors (ex) and they'll be done like GI Joes... The market is just broader there for customization and such. It's not there with just guys who like WW2 figures. This crossover will make sense ultimately. It's like Chicken Fried Toys' line of Dime Novel Legends western figures. They'll be very GI Joe-ish in the articulation/design because that's basically who's designing them.

Given the time since 21st doing anything though, I'm fine with this change. The articulation is ultimately better and I think it'll make for some awesome stuff. Marauder's stuff is always top notch. All of it!

Not a fan of the gijoe look, I guess I"ll just have to wait and see what they look like before I pass judgment.

The "GI Joe-ish" design isn't that bad of a figure design, like Jesse indicated. It is realistic enough and certainly adaptable. In some ways I would hope for something more like the GI Joe 30th anniversary line figures (see the Snow Job figure in Skorzeny's pic above) which hid the articulation better than the standard GI Joe "25th Anniversary" style figure. Even something like the Hasbro Indiana Jones figures would be fantastic. While a bit small, those combined very realistic tooling with excellent articulation. Still, it is hard to beat the BBI WWII figures in terms of look and quality... Even the 21c D-Day series and FOV Bravo Team WWII figures are quite well done.

I have a ton of WWII figures from all makers as when they were going on clearance years ago, I made sure to pick up a bunch. Unless this line does something really amazing, I may have to pass...

Here's a link to their first series of figs.

You can also browse the new female figure buck.

In good news, to me it looks like they split the difference- good articulation and good sculpting.

Not to mention a lot of the Marauder accessories are just great.
