Okay want to explain a bit more on this kit. I had not intended to include the front, and rear parts, as I wanted to keep price of kit lower for folks. I thought folks would just modify there donor tank by cutting out the center hull of it and then installing the new Brummbar center hull. I made a mistake in not explaining this better when I showed the kit, and for that I am sorry.

Here is some pictures of where you need to make the cuts.

Now if you are not sure about being able to do this, let me know and I can see about getting you the other parts that were from the stug kit.

I should have explained that better, I was trying to keep the price lower by not having to use as much resin on this kit, and in doing so did not explain it well.

If you decide you need those two parts, just let me know I will not charge for the parts, or the time to mold them as again I should have explained it better.

Last week Aracula's Brummbar kit came and yesterday, I got my donor 21c Panzer IV from tpa05. I've now started my build and so far so good. The major work has been cutting apart the upper hull structure of the Panzer IV to accommodate the "citadel" superstructure and make it a Brummbar. I got myself a new dremel tool (3000-series with variable speeds) and the hull-cutting and sanding went very smoothly. The "citadel" fits nearly perfect.

Aracula made a nice touch to the vehicle interior by including a gun breach on the backside of the cannon barrel. Still, the interior of the citadel is a bit cavernous and can be easily seen through the multiple hatches. Thus, my next step will be to scratch-build a partial interior. It will not be 100% accurate or perfect (like the pic below) but focus on the major features that would be seen through the hatch, like the cannon shell racks, stowage bins, as well as the safety rails and gunner's seat on the cannon. Should be fun

Looking good Tman!! A dremel can sure help when doing custom work.

My Brummbar kit arrived to day, I'm going to do a late version.
Thanks for the extra parts Aracula, Great kit!!!

Very cool! I can't wait to see the interior. Will you configure it so the top plate can be popped off (perhaps secured with magnet lego style) so you can see it, put crew inside, etc?

Thanks Grunt. I like the idea of having the top be secured with magnets, but my original goal is simply to do a basic-enough interior that when one looks in the hatches, there is something there to see and have the superstructure fixed in place. My interior won't be as detailed as the picture I posted above (I don't have the casting or 3D printing capability to make all the detail parts) but will hit on the main features which I am making from Balsa Wood and plastic scraps.

A few more in-progress pics for the development of the basic interior for the Brummbar...

I've partly finished the decking for the fighting compartment and rear stowage boxes. I also have the ammo storage racks and rounds built. The racks are a simple box with washers glued in place to hold the rounds (which will be glued). The rounds were made by sharpening a 1.75" section of a 5/16" dowel with a pencil sharpener. Nothing super-detailed or 100% accurate, but I'm satisfied that it all looks the part :)

Wow, very impressive Tman.
Just enough detail is all you need if your looking through small hatches.
Outstanding job!

I finished my Brummbar model tonight 8)

My hat off to Aracula for making an excellent and easy-to-build kit. This was a different build than the StuG IV, though both were very fun projects!

For my Brummbar, I chose a mid to late war camouflage scheme, referencing pictures of Brummbar models built by more talented individuals,k such as this one here: http://www.militarymodelling.com/sites/ ... 0_1267.jpg. I'm hoping mine is accurate enough... Also, I added a few detail features that were not part of the kit, including the wheel racks, armor plate over the exhaust muffler, the machine gun port in the top hatch, and the re-arranged tools on the hull. Then I constructed a basic interior that includes the gun breach, gunner's seat, stowage boxes, ammo racks and ammo rounds, as well as a couple spent casings on the floor.

I've included a few photos below and will likely take some outdoor diorama shots tomorrow if I get the chance. Enjoy :D

 Tman, these panzers look great and the Brummbar interior does the trick!!! The detail
inside is enough to give the impression of a full fighting compartment. :salute:

Looking great so far, Normandy!

Its amazing what some putty, a little sanding, priming, and painting can do with a model... I mean, I remember when I built Pickelhaube's SDKfz222 armored car kit years ago and if one had seen how the original parts (which looked nothing like the vehicle) went together into the final product, they would be amazed. Custom projects like this start off looking crude then with the right work transform into something awesome.

Can't wait to see your final results :D

The Brummbar is slowly coming along, a little putty and sanding and a rebuild of a Panzer IV commanders hatch.

A little more progress...

.....I decided I wanted the Brummbar to have Zimmerit, The quickest way I've found is to use 1:16 zimmerit by ATAK.

Glue, trim and fill any gaps with Putty or speckle. Much more work needed on this project.

You guys do some amazing work, I love what you have done with the kits. I do plan on making more conversion kits off the Panzer IV hull soon, as there are still more variants that need to be made.

Again fantastic work guys.
