Yes, I bought a weathering kit of washes and such from Vallejo. I like their products.

These were counter shading prior to applying the top color.

These are post top color with the grime, dirt, and rust added. The bore rods are wooden dowels with brass tops. Alot of bolt heads and reinforcement gussets were also added. The firing plunger and cable were also added. Careful that the breach block is not inverted upside down...the kit instructions were wrong. Hope these help you...

Finally put what at least for now are the finishing touches on my slat grill Jeep. Dirtied it up a bit more with mud splashes and such in differing shades. Got the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines markings on it for John Basilone's unit at Guadalcanal. The representation of leaf springs and a steering rod in front was the most important part of the custom. It replaced bulky toy parts not on a Jeep. I made attachments for the tools that were missing too. They were just magically attached on the toy like on a 21st C. 1/18 Jeep.

Thanks tman! Good to hear from you. You've been kinda quiet lately. I hope all is well. Stay safe and healthy! Noticed the passenger leaning out the side wondering where the heck the driver went didn't show up in the pictures. Also here's a close up of the tools. I used bits and bobs out of the scrap box to make the attachments that were missing. Again, just a representation but better than nothing.

The Sixth Scale Collector's Club has been publishing a virtual meeting each month with photos of projects photo shopped into the form of a "Yank" WWII period magazine. They were kind enough to include my "stay at home order" project I got carried away with and just kept adding to every day until it stretched for over 12ft. It's quite an honor to be recognized by such pros for my little project.
