I'll second that! We do not need a whole separate forum, but somewhere that the 1/6 scale fans on SSHQ (myself included) can share about their collections, finds, etc. would be great. This area within the small scale military hobby is still going quite strong :D

As a closet 1/6 guy (literally, most of my stuff is stored in a closet for lack of space :( ) ditto that.

I'd say not much chance based on the underwhelming response.

I have no less than 5 separate 1:6 projects in various stages of completion. Every day I head towards one and within a few minutes have either a question, suggestion or observation. So, the possibility of going to a forum; one thats well-established, and having it as a resource for 1:6 as well? I say yea With both thumbs!

I completely left 1:18 several years ago but I still occasionally come here to see what the customizers are up to and to see if there is any 1:18 news concerning possible modern Russian figures or vehicles (my preferred 1:6 niche) and because I always liked the community here. It would be nice to have a 1:6 section here but I would be concerned that it wouldn't get much use as this thread has seen few comments. Hopefully, I'm wrong about that as I really would like to become more active in this community again. As for established 1:6 forums, there are many with OSW being one of the most popular and having a very friendly (mostly, anyway) community.

I have the 1/6 21st Century R/C M-5 Stuart. I cut the side skirts off it and the project kind of died. I want to change the gearing to speed it up a little. Just a topic that would fit in a new 1/6 section I guess....

Here's a 1:6 Vehicle I completed a few weeks ago. It's a (sorta) Jadgpanther build on a Desimone T-34 chassis and what I call the Sdkfzwtf-Jag34...

Image

And speaking of cutting off skirts on a Stuart, needing some more "Bad guys", I converted one of my Stuarts to a, well, StuartPanzer...

And one more. It's an R/C Sdkfz-250. The tracks and sprocket are from a Stuart, and the wheels are actually Deck Wheels from Home Depot and are the same ones used in the Jag34. In this case I cut groove/slit right down the center-line and it's with this centerline that the track stays mounted.

Wow! Simply amazing work. The hybrid Stuart looks like a fun project. Are any of them R/C? Not that it matters though. The Panther must be huge!

Hey guys. First thanks for the kind words and support. Zelda I will try and get some pictures with figure(s) out within the next day or so. And as for size, yea the panther is indeed huge (and) heavy.

And Tom (krieglok) you ask if any of 'em are R/C and I'm happy to report that they all are. The Halftrack runs on not only the gear, track and sprocket(s) from a Stuart but with the motors from the tank as well. The Panther (Jag34) and StuartPanzer were both upgraded with Hobby-Grade electronics.

Thanks guys for your interest and I'll try and get some more pictures out as soon as possible.

Zelda and tpa05, you guys do some fantastic work with your 1/6 vehicles!

You both have given me some more inspiration for further mods I could make to my 1/6 Sdkfz 250 and other vehicles :D

I'm seeing some very nice figures and vehicles so far. If we're going to make this thread a 1:6 permanent discussion area, then I suppose I can contribute some images of a few figures of mine. There has been a lot of 1:6 scale modern Russian gear produced in the last few years but this first figure is one of my older figures, created with some of the limited modern Russian gear that was available at the time. This is my rendition of a Russian VDV paratrooper during the 2nd Chechen War as he would have appeared in the Argun River Gorge region of Chechnya in late April or May of 2000. The figure was created using a mix of items (many modified) primarily from Armoury, BBI, 21C and a few other manufacturers. A few more items, such as the helmet cover and base are hand made. More information and images can be found in this OSW thread: Clearing the Mountains - Russian VDV - Chechnya - Argun River Gorge - May 2000

Since we're now showing collection pictures and need to keep this thread alive, here are a few pictures of a small part of my collection I've posted in other threads:

Not really a custom, just a fun display with the 21c Air Cavalry OH-6:

Thanks for the positive comments on the previous figure that I posted. This second figure is probably my favorite figure in my collection and depicts a Russian VV MVD (Interior Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) sniper on patrol somewhere in Chechnya, between 2000 and 2009. This figure is from a few years ago and is a rework of a figure that I did back in 2009. By the time I updated the figure, my figure bashing and customizing skills had improved and better 1:6 Russian gear was becoming available. This figure consists of items primarily from BBI, Dragon, SideShow Toys and DiD. Many of the items (particularly the uniform) were heavily modified or repainted. The first image below is of the figure as originally created and the rest are of the updated figure. More information and images can be found in this OSW thread: Russian VV MVD Sniper on Patrol Somewhere in Chechnya.
