I joined early 2000. What was grounpounders name? I met him at the Chicago show back in the early 2000's. I think he is completely out of the hobby now for years.

Am still here, but not all that frequently... began with the groundpounders site, don't recall the date.

Cheers!
Was it for this my life I sought? Maybe so, and maybe not...

Groundpounders was one of the first sites I ever joined and posted on. I only come here now maybe a couple of times a month. Each to their own opinion, it's just for me that 1/18 has been dead for quite some time although I still have a couple of pickelhaube's kits that I still have yet to work on.

I searched and read quite a bit on Ground Pounders, but did not join until SSMH was active.

Was there around 2004 or 5. Transitioned to this site, and got a rest. Still lurking in the shadows.

Ah, GPXD.....gone but not forgotten. :salute:
Yeah, I was around back then. Don't think I posted much, post even less now, but I still read. Went by "Joebros", like I do now everywhere. Don't remember when I joined, but it was ages ago.
I still have every issue of the Ultimate Soldier club newsletter, including #1 that I got personally from Rex Adams at a G.I.Joe show when I joined the club.
Man, there was some good stuff in there.....

Found gp's when the first wave of 21st C WWII stuff hit TRU. Sporadically buy 72 & 144 scale stuff these days.

Oh yes i remember the original Groundpounders board. I joined shorty after buying my first 1:18th model. Im thinking it was 2001 ish. I remember Arlene as well. She was always very nice and quick to help with broken or missing parts. Seems like a very long time ago. Probably because it is!

Present. Hope this finds everyone well.
I checked in this morning because I see someone found the new BBI Army Rangers 4-pack with combat dog at TRU. Very interested to see these guys up close and also the other figures shown on the back. Just when I get out, they keep pulling me back in..

Heh I'm rarely here anymore but when I want to come to these boards I still type in "groundpoundersXD" in google to find it. So yeah I was here long time ago and still check in from time to time. This was one of the first boards I ever joined, then Rebel Scum, OSW and SSF.

I recognize some of the names (even though probably no one recognizes mine).

Miss those days when I would see 21st on the shelf at TRU and Walmart.

I've turned to the dark side of 1:6 like HT and 1:1 stuff but still have most if not all my 1:18 military stuff boxed up in my garage just waiting for the day I own a bigger room for my display!

Glad to see this board is still here and some of the OG members are still going strong!
It is the dang toy companies that have sometimes made me want to stop collecting toys!!!

I'm still around. Haven't logged in for a LOOOOONNNNNG time. When 21st closed up shop I kept about a dozen planes that I have displayed around the house, but the thrill of the find was gone so haven't even thought about 1:18 stuff other than the occasional "Dad can we play planes?" I get from the kids.

Just recently saw that a Corsair is up for sale for about 2.5 Million. Made me think that the Corsair was one of the XD planes I never bought, so I looked the forum back up.

Looks like Bad Cat has gone under in the meantime too. :(

I've got Big Beautful Doll, Peg o my Heart P47, Flying Tigers P40, Sahl 109, grey Stuka, and Shark P38 on display. Have NKK Spitfire, Blonde Angel P47, Michaelski 190, and I think Jabo still in the boxes.

Sold off a ton of these back in the day when you could get them at Walmart. Had a couple more than I planned on keeping but ended up selling (British P40, Galland 109, Laura Michelle P51)

Lair still doing custom decals for these things? I put some from him for the P40 and the German planes.

Anyhow, in my absence from 1:18 collecting, I've moved back home (10 years elsewhere), gone through a divorce, remarried, and now live in my grandparent's old house, complete with the PT19 prop on the den wall from the primary flight school my grandad ran during the war. He went on to fly B29's off of Tinian in the waning months of the war. My uncle's beeing doing research on him to write a short book about him, and I've found all kinds of neat photographs and related stuff around the house.

Anyhow, glad to see the forum is still kicking.

I'm back after a long absence. Can't believe how much the hobby has changed...BadCat gone, prices high on EVERYTHING 1:18, so many things I sold now described as 'rare'....but good to see some familiar names as I start (re)building up a small collection.

No kidding. Made me think about selling off a couple more of my planes that are still in boxes after all these years, but I know I'll just want to replace them, so think I"ll hold on to them.

Pathfinnder 53 back again. Got out in 04/05. Sold all my ww2 stuff to a board member in Chattanooga and gave the rest (mostly) to nephews.

Back at it hard again. What I need now is all the modern die cast landi gear.
