Ok let's all buy the distributors out as fast as we can to encourage them to do more subjects!

We all should have the money saved up so that when it's finally released they sell crazy fast:))

Everyone buy at least 2 and hopefully they'll do a little faster development to market/sale cycle next time:)))

Ugh! Cheap tuna??? Maybe u could find a few areas to save $$ besides that axis!!:)) looking at the pictures from Aviatornut some more, it looks to me like the A model proportions are very good as I saw with the prototype and this thing should rival or exceed the Dauntless hopefully! I'm optimistic that merit will do numerous schemes for this because the scheme in the pics is notable and famous but to me a standard scheme with no markings other than the standard wing insignia would be great for customizing!! Since there are so many choices for markings and schemes I'm really hoping they offer the unpainted Kit versions too!

Anybody remember this post/thread?

Yes, it was December of 2012 when Merit announced the FW 190A was coming in 2013. It really has been that long. It's obvious that Merit is indeed at the mercy of outside forces to get this done.

Recent rumor of a September, 2016 release is encouraging but our hopes have been dashed before. Would there not be advertisement for pre-orders from distributors by now since it's almost July? Or is that too far in advance? Whether it's September or later, I'm still in for two....unless the price is outrageous. I'm a little concerned that the landing gear is a little too spindly. The photos are hard to tell. Getting flashbacks of the horrible Dora gear from 21st C. I think many will be surprised at how diminutive this bird is. The fuselage length is about the same as a 109. Unlike big jets and 'copters, you won't be getting a size bang for the buck. Always wondered if 21st. C. chose the Dora long nose because it looked bigger in the box?

We can only wait...

Could this be the last big scale pre built? Ever??
Wouldn't that be something.

I assume they chose it because it's a much sleeker design, with 'pure bred' lines & aesthetics to rival the P-51!
Not to knock on 21st Century, as it was the pioneer; but their choice to make the Dora was compromised by the early/simplistic tooling. While I'm greatly looking forward to Merit's 'Butcher bird', a Dora done to the level of their SBD would be incredible.

After I saw the A model prototype, a thought hit me, how awesome would a Dora fuselage look on this wing?! I plan to buy one of the A models just to try to mount the wing onto the D fuselage. The trailing edge shaping and the surface detail on merits Proto was exquisite and beautifully fine! I can't wait to do the mods!! My saw awaits!!!!!

Probably was a "Skyworks" model?

There is a guide for posting pics on this forum at: Board index » Website/Forum Threads » Forum Threads » posting pics on the web (a How to guide).

Ok this effort is for a friend of mine. Second one of these I have done. Pics are about 8 months old. Currently in primer. Just an idea of a simple type at home conversion that's pretty easy to do.

Yes you got a cool one there. Looks like one of the skyworks noses at least but I have pics from the old days and I'm pretty sure your model is in those pics as one of the fully completed ones. Congrats on your new model!

Wondering who are these two big traders? Do they have any additional intel? I've searched for: 1/18 FW-190A Merit release date, and still only get release estimates of two years ago. :(

We can still hold out hope but it's mid July and we haven't heard anything about pre-orders or anything period for that matter. No promotions, no "coming soon", not even a teaser. The silence continues to be deafening. :?
