HELP with posting photos on this board
HELP:
Can anyone please let me know if it is possible to post photos on this board using the following:
I am using a I-Pad 2 to use this board and to take photos? I will be having 1:18 planes, figures and vehicles to sell or trade shortly.
Can it be done?
Thank You

Re: HELP with posting photos on this board
It doesn't matter what equipment you use; what matters is what online service you use to host your photos on.
You cannot directly upload photos to the site.

JOC, good to hear from a veteran board member!
Take a look at this older thread in the "Forum Threads" forum: http://www.warbird-photos.com/gpxd/view ... f=5&t=8426
Its a step-by-step guide on how to upload photos.
I use photobucket myself and it's pretty simple... Basically you upload the photos from your computer or other device into photobucket. When you view the photo, it should have various options for sharing the photo; the one you need is an "img code" that begins and ends with the [img]and[/img] codes. You can copy and paste that image code from photobucket into your message on this forum.

TMan:
I joined Photobucket and have two test photos in there. I can't seem to get them from Photobucket to this Forum. It does give me four options, I selected the last one that had the html stuff, tried to paste into this board and only got IMG.
??????????????????????????????????
Did I break it?
Thanks

Re: HELP with posting photos on this board
No, you want the second set of links marked "Direct" or that starts "http://img.photobucket......"
When you post, just click the IMG link above where you input your text and it will popup a window to paste the location in that you copied from Photobucket.

Re: HELP with posting photos on this board
G'day Joc. Go into your library section or latest uploads, click on the image you want ,it will then open it up in a bigger format . Then on the right hand side under share links you will see 4 options go to IMG hyper link in the box and click it it will copy that link, you then paste that link into your post...All Done. I hope this helps.
Cheers

Mine changed when I put the comp in the shop.
There is a list of options on the right side click on the last .
I have to right click then click on copy .
Then switch to were you want it ( left click ) then you have to right click again and hit paste.
You can check and see if it worked by clicking on preview and see if it down loaded

Thanks Guys, but on my I-Pad, I do not have the option to right-click or left-click. I used the correct option but it would not work wih a MAC.

JOC,
Comcast gives you a Snapfish allowance for hosting pictures. I use mine pretty well to host pics from trips. I'm not sure if you can hotlink (IE: use the IMG tags in the forums) directly to your images or not. You'd have to look into that, but essentially SnapFish is like a Photobucket account, a free image hosting site.

Re: HELP with posting photos on this board
Much of the above is why I still love my old "Grampa Box" (desktop PC). The younger modern set thinks their slick gizmos are the do-all, end-all and although they can do some amazing things with them they are great until they run into simple functions like this. My company puts out our electronic schedules in a format that most of the younger kids whine that they can't open it on their so called smart phones. It's all they have. They depend on them for every single funtion in their life and are absolute slaves to them. Some of them never owned a PC/Mac. My brother loves the Mac but I'll take my sometimes frustrating Windows any day. I also like real cameras with sandisk cards too. Uploading the photos here is a breeze.
