pickelhaube wrote:Hey Guys ,

I am pretty sure most of you can probably care less but for the dozen of you guys who are waiting for your kits to get out I have some semi good news.

I went to the doctor Monday and he said I should have the cast off in 3 weeks .

I went to the therapist yesterday and they worked on me for about 2 hours .

Let me tell you today is the first time I am able to raise my right arm over my head !!!

As well today I was able to pick up a half full coffee pot !!

I still can not button my pants and going to the bathroom is still an issue

But things are getting better .

Friday will be the sixth week of my accident.
Sounds very encouraging :)

As you start getting better another challenge is to not over-do it and suffer a setback :!:

I went to the Doctor this Tuesday and the 2 breaks have healed !!

Now it is the ligament issue .

I go to a specialist this Wensday so see what needs to be done .

I still can't make a fist with my right hand but I put myself back to work.

Mixing the resin and RTV is getting my wrist to move .

It is still plenty sore but at least I can move and use it .

Glad to hear you are getting better. Any progress is good, just don't push yourself too hard and re-injure anything.

Well it has been 12-13 weeks since my accident. The bones have totally healed . But I have ligament damage . The bones in my hand feel like marbles rolling around.

The last project that went out processes , mixing resin and the pulling apart of molds really did a number on me . I am going to the doctor with my wife on the 24th to go over my options.

There is about 2-3 areas on my wrist that have ligament damage. I can tell by the swelling ( yes there still is swelling ). I am having a problem getting inside the MRI tube because of my shoulder . I need to laydown flat on my belly and hold my arm out strait in front of me kind of like Superman flying but my shoulder will not allow it.

Everything said and done this possibly could be a career ending injury for my granite business . I do have guys who install for me but a main part of my business is doing repairs and I do that myself .

I'm sorry about your complications. Do you have a stand up MRI in your area? They are much more convenient than the coffin ones.

Hope you have some good options. My brother had a wrist injury many years ago and unfortunately he still isn't right. Hope things gid better for you. We would be lost without the Pickleworks to build us new 1/18 items

This is bad news Matthew. I sure hope that you get to a point where you get over this real soon.

Take care of yourself brother, go easy on yourself. We would all rather you have a nice long recovery than any further injury. Your Jagdpanthers came the other day and they are great! Take a break and let your body heal, watch for your hard work come to life when we start seeing everyones Jagdpanther builds 8)
