I touched on this in my Jagdpanther post.

I am pretty sure that this would be easy . My intentions were to make the small mods that convert a G to a D .

A little more work but hopefully the parts will be an easy swap out after the old has been cut out.

Mantlet without chin.
Radiator without high box
Altered driving and radio hatch panel .
Old style exaust set up.
Dovetail rear fender. Not sure how I would do this mod without looking into if further.

Maybe $50 for the mods ????????????????????

Interest ?

The Ausf A without the side skirts and the Zimmerit coat is in my opinion the most beautiful tank. It just looks right. Its the classic Panther. It just has beautiful lines. I wish I could get a 1/16 kit of it.

I am sure most of you guys know the history or time line of the Panther .

here is a refresher course on notaceble changes.

Panther D
simple drum copula
small verticle cover for bow mg
rectangle cover for forward looking vision block mounted on bow
armor wedge to rear of side hull
single exhaust stacks
PINWHEEL TYPE RADIATOR COVERS
mostly no zimmerit ( some really late versions had field applied ? )

Panther A

introduction of cast copula with multipul vision blocks
introduction of ball socket for bow mg
mutipul arrays of exaust ( constantly changing )
PINWHEEL COVER ARMOR COVER ONE SIDE STRAIT ON THE OTHER
introduction of zimmerit from the factory ( early production did not have it along with late production )

Panther G

removal of bow vision block moved to top of hull
removal of armored wedge armor of side hull stream lined from fron to back cover area that was protected by the " wedge "
use of zimmerit terminated
introduction of exhaust cover with vent fan ( the exhaust would glow red hot a tell tale sign for the enemy )
SIMPLIFIED RADIATOR ARMOR COVER BOTH SIDES
introduction of tall boxed radiator cover ( late )
introduction of chin mantlet ( late )

location of pioneer and all other gear was constantly changing all though out the life of the panther.

There where other changes like bolts in wheels different hub caps for main drive and odds and ends on top of the turret as well as on the rear deck but to me not worth mentioning .
