All right Guys,

It is time for a reality check.
The past 2-12 years work for me has gone from bad to worse .
The phone has not been ringing at all .
The money form my 1/18th sales has been paying the bills augmented by me selling my pickelhaube collection.
3 weeks ago I hired on to a granite shop working as a " field superintendent"
They told me I wouldn't have to hump the stone but they lied , but the pay is good .
Hopefully I can get caught up on my bills .
What does that mean for the HIND build ?
I now can only work on the project ON WEEK ENDS ONLY

Considering that the paint master ha taken 250 hours to build , there will not be an end in sight to complete .
I thought that one unit would take 80 hours to complete and reality it is taking 3 times that to complete.
I just had a 4 day weekend for final assembly and I am not done yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Board member Tom E . has been a Saint on this project helping me out financially.
He has actually paid 3 times my asking price on the full builds.

Considering all of this I reluctantly HAVE TO INCREASE THE PRICE OF THE FULL BUILDS TO

$1,500 CONCIDERING THE 200-250 HOURS WORTH OF LABOR.
That is an additional $650

That being said I know some of you guys will want your money back ( hopefully not all)
Those of you guys who are willing to pony up , I will take your additional payment and reimburse the guys who want their money back.
If there is nobody who is willing to do this I will continue to sell off my pickelhaubes to pay for the returns.

I am truly sorry for this for you guys who have waited years with nothing to show for it, but I am one guy and I do want to do the right thing.
I have never ripped anybody off in this hobby and I am not going to start.

Matt is an honest guy, so if he says that’s how it is, that’s how it is. I thought these full builds were a huge undertaking for him, after I built mine I knew for sure. IMO this is the largest, most complex 1/18 kit ever produced. I admire Matt for having the stones to make the call instead of dragging it out further.

The Hind project has not died it has just moved in different directions.
The Afghany Paint Master is done using 19 different paint colors.

I have sent messages to all the full build buyers and so far the continue vs payback is 50/50 .
Here are a few picks of the Paint Master .

Has anyone received their money back yet ??
I have not. I see all these nice statements by people and that’s all fine and good but I’m stuck with wasting a year waiting on this and now can’t justify paying an additional huge chuck of money for it that was thrown at me at the last minute. Sorry but that’s the case.
Mr Pickelhaube I would please like my $850 and please don’t use the virus as an excuse. Paypal is easy. Also I don’t need excuses. Everyone has difficulty in life. I’m sure mine can outdue yours .

I would like my $850 dollars please.

Please remember I was told on September 8, 2018 that the complete time would be 3-4 weeks. I still have the pm

Hey Rob ,

Thanks for putting this out for all to see.
I am not sure if you knows this but there is a WORLD CRISSIS going on right now and there is no money coming in now to pay you.
This situation is probably happening to about 1/2 of Americans right now.
I will pay what I can when I can and I will start with $100 today .
That is all that I can spare now.

SEND ME YOUR PAYPAL

FYI I HAVE NEVER SCREWED ANYBODY OUT OF A DIME WITH THIS HOBBY.

I have had a few issues and have taken a loss to make things right .
You have been the last guy to get back to me so you will be the last to get your money WHEN FUNDS BECOME AVAILABLE.

I got back to you last because I never received an email from you. I had to find the post on the forum. I don’t come to this site daily. I would have expected an email. I would have responded much quicker had you done that.

I finished Lee P's UN Hind about a month ago .
It took over 4 weeks to get to AZ
I was just getting ready to file a claim and it popped up in great condition.
The first one I shipped arrived broken in 2 pieces.
The first one cost $ 130 to ship to Co and $180 to ship to AZ.
Anyway Lee was the first to order a full build he has waited YEARS AND NOT ONE COMPLAINT.
He has the patience of a saint !!

Numbers III and IV are being worked on .
I have had 21 days to work on them strait and have a total of 120 hours into them.
21 days !!!!!!!!
Of course if you do the math a few days were not a full 8 hours
I will probably be able to seal up the main fuse today ( Sunday 7-19-20 )
Once done I will attach the rear booms .
Then final touch up and prime , then it will be time to lay down the final paint.

# III will be another Afghani War livery and # IV will be will be the Cold War paint scheme.

My guess would be at least 10 more days to complete possibly more .
That will end up being a solid month with hands on working.
I am keeping track of the time on these 2 builds

I will try to get some pics up later on today.

Hey Guys,

The next 2 Hind fuselages are ready for final paint .
One will be the modern paint and the other Cold War Clover scheme. .
The Afghan template took me 4 days to make.
I went back to my original idea of using a rubber shower pan to make the templates
This seems to be much easier than crafting the hard shell template.
I have 8 hours into it so far.

I have been keeping a time card of my progress on these 2 builds
Over a span of 34 days i have worked 30 days hands on .
So far I have 186 hours into the 2 builds .
My guess would be another 2 weeks to finish.
Aprx another 100 hours.

Has anyone else who bought a kit of the hind attempted to put one together? I would like to know what people have encountered and think of this model. Pictures would be nice

Well the rubber mat was a failier.
I had no control over the paint edge.
Either soft , feather or sharp in all of the clovers.
So I went back to the tried and true way of cutting out the clover with paper and using poster putty , I stuck the clover were they went.
Then I airbrushed around the templates took then off used the out line and painted inside the clovers with the tan back ground paint.
Then I painted the field.
Using the outside clover cut outs , I filled in the clovers.
The result looks great !!!

No issues with the modern paint scheme.
I used the original hard pattern templates .
