Hey Guys,

With the new WII movie lomming over the horizine . Bradd Pitt's Sherman is the M-4A3E8 .

The Easy 8 . The Sherman has the new leif springs along with the smaller wheels.

I know the first versions came out with the old tracks then they made the newer tracks that were totally different.

I could do the new suspention but newer tracks is a little dounting.

I make the new turret already as TTT has mentioned in another post.

Any interest ?

Were the hell is the spelling check on this thing ?

Got it back fromn the shop and nothing but problems

Well even if you don't have enough interest to justify making new suspension. I would still be down for one of those turrets.

I would be in for a horizontal volute suspension for the Sherman. It's on my wish list, that I keep adding to, but never subtracting from....

I would be in for one myself. Would make an excellent addition to my growing Sherman tank collection.

I'd definitely be in for a couple! I've been wishing for an easy 8 Sherman in 1/18 for a long time.

The new Fury movie has certainly sparked my interest in the good old Sherman. Looking forward to the movie.

I had to break out one of my old tanks for a photo:

Hello fellas,
or I should say hello "again"…
I've been checking here every now and then. I'm one of those who has put my 1:18 on hiatus since 21stC died…shame really.

But ever since I saw the Fury trailer in summer I have been anticipating this movie!

I've seen a lot of customs here and seems that most are getting their armor from other members building them.
So if I may chime in and ask, pickelhaube, are you planning on making kits? or the full Easy 8? And usually what do you sell these pieces for?

I've only got stock 21stC Shermans…never got the BBi one cuz I was hoping they would make a Firefly - but we all know how that went.

So the M-4A3E8 would be a nice addition!

I'm glad to see this board is still around even though the hobby has taken a pretty big hit.

And looking forward to the movie! (already saw someone posted they watched it already)

Thanks for any info!

FURY is an awesome movie!!! I'd be in for one of the T 23 turrets with the muzzle break on the 76mm. I've got several Shermans, and have always wanted one with the 76. Picked up a BBI 105mm M4A3 (missing the gun) at a garage sale, and I'd love to convert it with that turret. Are they still offered and what's the cost? Thanks!

I'd definitely be in for the T23 turret and gun barrel, but I really want the whole conversion. I've always wanted an Easy 8 Sherman in 1/18. They served a long time in front line service for the U.S. including Korea. It's surprising to me that it was never produced in 1/18. And several different Sherman variants with the Easy 8 suspension continued into the 1980's with the IDF and several other countries. I believe Chile was still using ex-IDF Super Shermans until pretty recently.

What I love about the movie is that people are actually interested in US armor for a change. There probably hasn't been this much interest in a sherman since "Kelly's Heroes".

Fury is a fantastic movie. Some typical overwrought Hollywood melodrama and silly non-tactics, but still a must see.

I need to dig out my 18 armor and see if I have a 75 Sherman for conversion.

Hey Guys,

I have been thinking about the easy 8 for years now but considering the new tracks and all of the wheels I have backed off.

The price would be close to a full build.

Now if I were NOT TO DO the tracks and just the running gear only along with the T-23 turret would that be good enough ?

The tracks would add about $75-$100 to the price of the kit.

The T-23 kit Is selling for $65 and I would say another $65 for the running gear.

That is $130 without the tracks so another $75-$100 would make the price of the kit too high unless some of you ( 10 anyway ) would really really want it .

Zelda that Korean War Sherman is just awesome !!

Funny that you mention this. I am actually frakensteining a Easy 8 right now. The HL Plastic tracks you can get fairly cheap for this.

Right now I am doing this with a BBI 105. Your T23 Turret when you feel better and can pour it and the Tamiya Suspension from their 1/16 RC 105 with the HL RC tracks and drive wheels. A few compromises have to be made of course but so far it only comes out to be about 1/4 of an inch taller then a regular 1/18 M4.
