In order to paint the parts by all means you need to soap wash the parts .

A primer is a must on resin parts . I use automotive paint .

You can now go to Home depot or Lowes for the paint matching.

I have matched the paint for

21st Humvee
21st Stuka
BBI Pavehawk
New BBI Blackhawk.

All almost perfect matches . Now they offer small test cans about the size of a small tomato paste can , and the price is about $3-$5

CHEAP !!!.

The trick is to let the paint totally cure out . Then one cured I seal everything with tester dull clear coat.

I have used a make up sponge to paint . This gets the job done but you need to apply about 2-3 coats. It is better if your sponge is wet first . Dip it in water ( purified or bottle water ) squeeze it dry then start dabbing paint.

You can also airbrush the Home depot paint . Every body says that you can use denature alcohol but I never had success with it . IT CLOGS EVERY 3 SECONDS .

So I us Windex to thin out the paint. THIS WORKS GREAT !!! JUST LIKE REGULAR PAINT !!!!

Check out the location of the spare tire bracket slide it over so that it is up against the right side bumper bolt.

Also check out the locations of the 2 different types of u-bolts.

Lot of work but I finally have gotten done with one of my full builds of the HUMVEE.

Sooooooooooooooo many parts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me about 30 hrs to complete. I used Home Depot paint through an airbrush cut with Windex using about 30 lbs of pressure on my airbrush.

But when you stopped spraying it almost always clogged up. So I would screw the nozzle closed and used a Q tip with alcohol to swipe off the tip. Then it was ready to go.

The front flag device is an IED jamming device and the rear flag pole I am not sure some kind of incoming detection device ?

Thanks guys .

$100 ?

Too bad the HUMVEES do not come like this .

I guess it is hard to put a price tag on 30 hrs worth of work.

 Sorry P...I didn't mean to suggest your time and efforts were only worth $100 here...just that if BBI put this on the shelf I would pay 5X the old MSRP.

Here is another full build and the customer wanted it weatherd.

I think that it is just enough. I do not like heavy handed weathering.
