This is my M-RAP pack....Ohkosh M-ATV and the Cougar 6x6

Post by marshkop » Sun Mar 16, 2014 4:18 pm

Hey guys, I'm not very popular here but here are a couple of vehicles that we are trying to mass produce with a Kickstarter and I need to know who would be down for which one. They will be around the 100-200 dollar mark and it depends on how you order it. Assembled and painted or just assembled or not assembled. The price reflects those choices.

Could you be nice and give us (WW II collectors) a choice of 1/18 King Tiger in mass produce around 100-200$ ?

I would go for both unpainted.

Very Nice!!!! Great looking vehicles! I collect WWII but there should be plenty of interest among the modern
1:18 collectors, here and at the Fighting 118.

Both are very nice! But find the Ohkosh more lovely. Could we have a look inside?

These look great! Do you have more details on your project somewhere? Resin? Plastic? Snap-together for the unassembled or more like a traditional model kit? Did you already launch a Kickstarter or you're planning for one?

Considering Merit showed they may be releasing a 1/16 M-ATV, I am more interested in your Cougar.

Showed the pics to my son and he said if he didn't know they were toys he would have thought they were from his unit. Waiting for more info as too the pricing and details on the materials used in construction. Looks real good. Good luck with them.

This is from Digler (on our forums).

We're currently working with him on trying to find ways to get these produced at a more reasonable price. He currently makes these all by hand (which is crazy). Measures out each piece and designs it all himself. I think there are only a few 'casted' pieces, which are the wheels and a few others.

I love that the 6x6 Cougar started life as this:

He also made a Sea Knight out of some Chap Mei helos:

Crazy.

It currently costs him around $400-$500 per piece (including labor/materials) and we all agree that's too much, even for a one-of-a-kind-great vehicle.

The goal is to get more pieces castable, economy of scale, etc to get the price down into the $150ish range. We're working on getting the Kickstarter up and running and will be posting more info once it's available.

In the meantime he's building a couple of 1:18th scale HEMTT Gun Trucks 8)

I'd take one of each at around $150.00. Good luck.

As they said, they are looking into ways to bring the cost down so be patient.

And maybe contribute a little to the Kickstarter?

Yeah...and hence why I am not buying much these days...maybe IF the prices come down. Not much product and what is out there I can't afford. :(

The guy making these has great skills...
