The "Borough of Lambeth" Spitfire, which was released as a 1/18 model by 21st Century, is on the cover of Peter Frampton's new album "Thank You Mr. Churchill".

Probably one of the best looking fighters of WWII (besides the FW190A)

Thanks for the links Normandy - good reading

Yes, a good read, thanks.

Still have my Borough of Lambeth too. I wonder if they took an actual pic of it for the cover?

Many of us are of Mr. Frampton's age group.
Interview on the album, why he chose the title. A rather pleasant guy PF is:

Great thread and really glad to see some history for the "Borough of Lambeth" Spitfire. I knew it was based on a real plane, but didn't know that parts of it have actually survived to the present. Very nice reads.

This was always my favorite of the 21c Spitfires and was one I got way back in the day at Wal Mart in 2004 (in the old Motorworks box). Mine is currently out on display and I'm looking over at it while I type  I also have the 610 Sq. Spitfire (DW-K), though I never liked how the squadron markings and national insignia were not aligned...
