How about showing your collection

I know it's been done a couple of times. I just thought it would be nice to do again since we have not seen much movement in the 1/18 scale hobby (or obsession as in my case).

Thanks Matt, it's only a portion of a 30+ year collection I imagine if i had a 20'x40' room I could probably display it all. There is a lot of my stuff in boxes begging to be let out.

Thanks for the comments. The room needs to be cleaned up some what. There are over 500 1/18 scale diecast cars with a few 1/16 mixed in. What you cannot see is a u-shaped display case in the middle. I converted the closet by removing the doors and making wood supported shelves in order to display some of the 1/18 military planes, helicopters, vehicles and soldiers. In order not to go overboard I made a choise to only buy U.S. Military hardware otherwise I would probably be single.

Most of these are old photos, not much different now other then even more cat hair for scale. Most of the modern 1/18 ac aren't shown here, most photos were taken for a 1/6 group. The ones showing figures with the red/white armbands, cap badges, etc are Polish Home Army. The last two show my next planned builds for the next several years.

Chunks, I said to myself things that can't be posted here. You and TTT have demonstrated that there is nothing evil about dabbling in the "dark side" 1/6 scale. In fact, you guys are in up to your eyeballs. 8) Just wish there was a 1/6 scale site as user friendly and unstuffy as this site. I tried Sixth Army Group but I guess I just don't get it :? Before someone suggestes the local Sixth Scale Collectors Club that puts on that fabulous Ft. Thomas, KY Veteran's Salute show, they actively recruited me but it turned out they have meetings on a day, at a time and a place that made it impossible for me to participate. Though I made it quite clear that I could not participate they requested information/ address, phone numbers and more anyway. I politely declined and said forget about me becoming a club memeber. It just isn't going to work for me. They already had my e-mail from correspondance and continued sending messages trying to change my mind and a "hope to see you at the next meeting" and they added me to a member group chain e-mail list without consulting me and I started getting e-mails I didn't want or need or even had a clue what they were about so I put a block on the leader and the group e-mail list to stop it since they refused to take NO for an answer. I often wonder how many more e-mail attempts came after that :?: I regret burning that bridge but I tried politely to say no thank you but it didn't work.

Anyway, my stuff isn't on display. It's just kinda scattered about so I don't have any pictures. Thanks to all for sharing :!: :D

Holy crap, Chunks.

That is a ton of stuff, and some pretty cool planes in there as well. Dornier X stands out for me.

Might have to send you a swiffer for Christmas though.

Nice collection. I have a ton of 1/6 G.I. Joe's stored for lack of space. Wish I had a bigger room. On this site we have 1/18 scale forums, 1/32 and smaller forum, how about a 1/6 scale and larger forum......my two cents.

There are only two super user friendly sites, with a group of great members. One is this site and the other is SAG.

My opinion and I'm sticking to it. 8)

my former chopper display :

with two modest customs : a vietnam war LOACH (short skids) and a HALO jumper from the door of my BLACKHAWK (dusty trail figure) ... and of course a full crew of pilots (noteworthy in the cobra...and the last little bird with special forces ....)

I'm with you, rschaap. Problem is it's the "Small" Scale Military Headquarters. How do we get around that? Start a 1/6 thread in Off Topic like YT's Sideshow/Hot Toys perhaps:?:

That could possibly work...I will talk to the gate keepers and see what they have to say.

The idea of having a separate 1/6 section has been brought up before and rejected by the mods as unnecessary.

Those of us that dabble in 1/6, even serious dabbling, also have interests in other scales and collections that include many scales. We contribute to this forum and being segregated to a separate section means fewer members will see our "stuff". I, personally, want to stay in this forum. Actually, I want these guys to "dabdle" in the dark side by seeing our stuff. 1/6 as well as 1/18 is a shrinking market. In todays economy we should encourage every scale collectors, as they seem to be getting fewer and fewer.

So, lets see those collection, whatever scale. I might draw the line at 1/1, but that is why we have the "Off Topic". We do have guys that dabble in 1/1, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Classic Trucks and Military Vehicles. I went from interests in Military History growing up to collecting 1/1 antique trucks to 1/1 military trucks to 1/18 and finally 1/6. All still interest me, what is wrong with that.

Thanks for the kind comments. Please forgive my not responding directly as they came in. It's just that I've learned how awkward I,ve become when commenting on the computer and try not to so much.

Here's the rest of the downstairs collection, also mostly older stuff.

Very impressive chunks.

A real mix of cool stuff, and lots of aircraft kits that you have done.

Thanks for sharing.

What a treat to see all that.

Really like all the unusual aircraft you don't usually see unless it's been built.
