AMPS 2013, Initial Intel

Post by caribmar » Fri Apr 19, 2013 8:59 am

Greetings,
Currently at Atlanta for AMPS 2013. I had an opportunity to speak to a Merit Rep. about thier upcoming releases. Sorry if any of this has already been posted but thought I would get the word out. FW 190 is confirmed , color scheme still to be determined. For the modern plane....sorry I swore to secrecy but both planes will be out this year. One in September and the other around Christmas. Also they had a 88mm coming out in kit form. They had the 1:16 howitzer on display and boy was it impressive.

The kicker...they will be putting out a modern vehicle within the next 12 months. Based on the sales of the above mentioned planes, they will make the determiniation to release more new tooled planes. They even discussed the possibility of a Y-23. The ability to move the engine between vertical and horizontal lift seemed apealing. Again this is all based on the sales of their upcoming releases.

Dude, at least throw out some hard core hard to figure out hints or something.
Or at least tell Aferg and let him tease us.

Yeah, if they would only stop releasing repaints at $140 each...

That JSI Sabre repaint must rank up there with some of the worst possible ideas for 1/18 AC, the other obvious one being All-Go's ludicrous strategy: using nude pinup artwork as a marketing ploy (aka the booby fiasco).

When you get your hands on a Dauntless, it is worth EVERY penny! The best 1/18 aircraft to date!

Pictures of the event have been recently post on Merits Facebook site. Nothing I can see that could help provide further intel on what the new jet will be, unfortunately. :(
