Any Interest in a Ohka ( Baka ) Bomb ?

Post by pickelhaube » Tue Apr 02, 2013 2:41 pm

Japans version of the Natter. Kinda.

The Germans were to eject after their volley of rockets. The Japanese were to take it all the way in.

A one way ticket.

Plus the Ohka was to be dropped from the belly of a Betty bomber.

Our fearless leader started one using parts of many aircraft.

This kit should be about the same price point as the Natter.

That would be nice to have in my collection since 95% of it is all Japanese Navy. Can we make a 1:18 Betty for it? J/K.

Personally Im not into suicide machines. I would say it is closest to the Germans manned V1.

That and the fact that all I have in my 1/18 collection that is Japanese is the Zero it would be hard for me to justify it... Unless you go ahead and make the Betty to go with it. No thats not a joke! Now that I know that you will take on projects the size of the A-10 I wont be shy anymore!

I want an Me110, a Mosquito, an Me410 and a P-61 also

A very interesting project, Matthew.

It is a very futuristic looking weapon, and does really "look the part" of a rocket powered suicide bomb. Kind of the same idea as the Natter, but different target, and outcome.

I would like to vote yes on this, as I like the idea of having this late war " wonder weapon", but I have limited PTO models, with my emphasis being on European Theater.

To be honest, I would go for the Natter first, but think the idea of an Ohka being done is exciting.

Perhaps those more dedicated to the Pacific campaign would be more willing to give you a thumbs up to proceed.

It would be a cool model Pickel, something for your future projects list.
I only build and collect ETO models and mostly German at that.

Now if you did a Shusui I might consider that.....
