Pickelhaube had asked for a pic of the jack location on the 1:18 King Tiger Kit he made....

Image

As you can see it goes center - bottom.
The jack has a handle which is modeled as if its folded in half. As I get to detailing the Tiger I'll
get a better pic of the jack, its silver for the photo.

I am still having computer / camera problems but I am going to try and splice the Jagdtiger directions onto the K2 directions.

The build is the same except for the fighting compartment.

Pickelhaube has asked me if I could help out with the Jagdtiger Building Instructions due to his computer problems.

I'll try, I must say I'm not ready to start the build but I'll post some pics of the kit for those who have not received
theirs yet.

Thanks Normandy for doing this.

Guys I am having issues with my computer and camera ( along with some other things )

My comp is not accepting my camera. I need to take it to the shop but that will shut my business down .

So I am in limbo now and can not down load any pics. So Normandy will try to step in with the steps.

Thanks again Normandy.

Hey Guys ,

When you get to the travel , here is a helpful hint.

Drill a hole in the bottom of the Bosch light and glue a pin in the bottom . That we you can can take it on and off .If you install the travel lock in the down position it is easy to snap off the Bosch light . So by putting a pin in it you can take the light on and off with no danger in snapping it.

The Bosch light is actually not shone but you can see the base of it in the pic. The barrel ring flips onto the light when in the stowed position.

You may also choose not to install the travel lock . There are many many pictures out there of the JT without it !!

So far it has taken me 40 hours to build the JT for a full build. I would say I probably will have 50 hours into if before it will be ready to paint.

About 4-6 of those hours went into joining the box to the main hull.

Looking at this, I wonder if the way the acid rain line did it's plastic tracks might be a decent shortcut for the pickelhaube method (patent pending).

Then again, styrene might be too brittle, and it might not be any cheaper or easier on pickel to make.

Hello Pickel

Something that caught my eye is that in many kits and pictures of real King Tigers as well that I've seen, the right side vision cover is oriented in a different angle than the one on the left side but in your kit both are oriented to the front.

These covers could rotate or is this just a slightly different version of the tank?

Probably this question has been asked and answered before here, and I've just missed it.

The radio man's port should be skewed at an angle. It should also be in the spot shown on the model kit and not right in front of the hatch.

Hey guys, is it just my computer or all the Pickel's pictures from this tutorial are gone now?

Hope it's just me, it will be very sad to lose this great tutorial for this forum.

I have made 99% of the molds and have run out of RTV ( rubber molding material ) as well as money .
It has been years since I first started this project and have forgotten that is took me 14 gallons of RTV to do this project with close to $1,400 worth of the material.
Not counting the resin.
So far it has taken 6 gallons and I need at least 2 more.
Thanks to Normandy I have been able to get the last 2 gallons ( I hope ) to finish the revamp.
After a few lessons learned over the years I am able to cut a few corners to save on the RTV.
All of the new molds are producing great results and I will try to bring up to date info on the changes for the " on line directions "
