i was reading the description for Galland's plane and it says it comes with a new pilot, fashioned in the likeness of Galland himself. I hope someone will post some pics when they get it. :)

I'm gonna pass on these. It's time to move on to something new. It's amazing to think that these planes are starting to show their age..........

Ski are you giving up the 1:18 plane collecting or just the repaints?

Are you kidding??? I will be around for a long time, hehehehe. I'm just saying that with all of the new stuff coming out it's time to leave these repaints of the early planes behind. Why spend $50 on a repainted 109 when you have the bbi P-51 beckoning it's arrival that puts it to shame? So far, I have gotten just about every repaint and the latest repaint offerings don't interest me anymore. It's time to look ahead for the Bubbletop P-47, BF-109G, bbi P-51, bbi F-16, Avenger, etc, etc, etc. Planes that have superior detail and finish.....

That said, the Galland 109 looks pretty tempting, especially as I have a signed art print showing the same plane. But for now, I'll float in my sea of planes waiting for a new shape to grace my ceiling.

My new putt putt was just liberated from its package! I my now holding in my hands a plane that I had almost given up all hopes of owning! This is my favorite P-38 and I am stoked. I was suprised to see FEDEX with my new toy this morning! I guess I have to get the Galland now...

The Galland is an absolute must for me. In desireability, I'll even put it above my previous fave 109 - the original yellow nose.

Come on folks, it's THE man's ride! :)

Post by the_catalog » Fri Nov 12, 2004 10:15 am

So is anyone going to customize their plane with Galland's spotting scope?

lol....it does look like him. All they did was take the standard pilot and changed the eyes and added a painted on moustache....but it works!

Very cool.

XD Galland figure

Post by tmanthegreat » Tue Nov 16, 2004 9:29 pm

Hmm...

I could just buy a carded 109 pilot and paint a mustache, then I'll have Galland to add to my collection, w/o purchasing a repaint of a plane. Though I must add that the Galland BF-109 has the best paint scheme of all the 21st 109s, along with the origional!

vmf214 - shouldn't you use the XD VMF-214 pilot for you Avatar picture instead?

That's cool, it does look like him. I think it nice to 21st making an effort to give us something a little different by way of custom figures in pilot's likeness. And it is cool to have something other than another generic 109 pilot.

Yeah tman, I only used that as my avatar photo just so everyone could see it instead of happening on to it within this thread. He does look pretty cool, the plane is truly excellent, my new favorite 21st 109, especially with the swastika decals that come with it...now bring on the G's!!!!!!! :D

The question was asked earlier but I don't think ever answered: anyone know if the Galland 109 will be distributed at W-M?
