Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ 1/18 Me-109G-2 JG-54

I used the same body, removed the head and put on the Pak40 gunner head. He has a big melon head so I scalped him, well actually more like a lobotomy right above the eyebrows but he only sits in the plane no flying required  Then put the flying cap on him. Do to his over-sized head he looks bizarre outside of the cockpit but in the cockpit he looks perfect.

Cool, thanks! It does look right in that cockpit.

I was always a bit disappointed with the BBI WWII German pilot. Here it is looking pretty good with an accurate uniform and parachute straps and even having a removable helmet - but it has about as much articulation as a 1970s Star Wars figure and is tiny. I know it is tiny so that it can fit in the cockpit without issue, but BBI could have easily made a properly-scaled figure, perhaps with slightly thinner proportions, and used soft plastic. 21c was able to get both their larger S1 style German pilot and FW-190 pilot to fit in a similar space.

Great job on the Flak Panzer,It looks fantastic!!!
Your tank Commander looked familiar but I couldn't place the figure......
.....but then I remembered  The Golden Compass Image

The figure works very well in the diorama, gives it that donated cloth for the troops, Eastern Front look.
Well done!
Oh and the 109 is Killer!

Great work on the FlakPanzer!

The "Here Comes Santa Claus" music was an interesting juxtaposition with the WWII German tank :P

Great looking custome. Is that based on an actual vehicle? Haven't seen anything like it before!

yes they did put the 88mm on the MKIV Chassis, the best example of it is the Nashorn but they did experiment with fast improvisation versions like this at the end of the war when things were desperate.

This is a prototype, leave it to the Germans to totally design a new chassis as the bombs were raining down

Thanks! I had know about a few of the purpose built versions.

I find the field modifications very interesting. It is especially facinating to look at battle of Berlin pictures, there are all kind of one-off scattered throughout the record.

Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ Tiger 134 ~ Normandy 1944

Post by Jnewboy » Wed Dec 12, 2012 12:19 am

This is the last of my 1/18 Tigers from the four I converted. I chose 134 obviously for its unusual wave camo that came out great! If you are not aware of what all goes into one of these Tiger conversions look it up in the customs forum as it is a lengthy process and one would need two Tigers to make this one.

This Tiger is not spoken for yet. I am open to offers from members. If no reasonable offers are made by Sunday it will go on the auction block on eBay.

In my opinion this is the best tiger you have made.

It looks great and I would love to have this in my collection. :D

Fantastic work on that Tiger. Really like your use of the Bravo Team Tiger upper hull and 21c Tiger lower hull & wheels. Save for the different ID numbers, your model reminds me of my Dragon pre-built 1:35 Normandy Tiger. Same cammo pattern, zimmerit and everything.

BTW, that Bravo Team Tiger had so much going for it, but then they stopped just short of making a good tooling really great. Things like the moulded-on shovel on the front, the lack of spare tracks on the turret, etc detract from the tooling. (Sort of the same story for most of the vehicles in the BT lineup, especially when compared to their 1:32 cousins).

Your work really brings out what that tank could have been!

Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ Custom 1/18 French Homes For Sale

Post by Jnewboy » Sat Jan 12, 2013 11:37 am

Up for sale is two custom 1/18 French homes, custom painted and built.

Made from Playmobil's Medieval line.

Both are two story and can be put end to end or split up as seen in pics.

Here is what they look like and sell for before the custom paint.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0 ... use&_frs=1

Im asking $150 for both or $110 for the large and $60 for the small if purchased separately.

They are pop together with no glue needed, very easy to assemble. They will be sent broken down in separate bags for easy assembly.

Here is an idea what they can look like in a diorama set up, really look great next to armor and soft skin vehicles.

Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ 1/18 Me-163 & Kettenkrad with Ground C

Post by Jnewboy » Fri Feb 15, 2013 12:51 pm

Many of you saw the post weeks ago complaining about Jacks kit and its many short comings. That said this is testimony that it is not an impossible build but definitely not simple or easy as many of the detail parts you see that make the model were made by me. Included in the pics is one of Grunts wonderful Kettenkrads with the a custom made tow bar. The Kettenkrad was done in a Luftwaffe airbase scheme, the weathered dark yellow with Luftwaffe license plates and no other markings. Also included are custom made Luftwaffe ground crew guys overseeing the towing of the 163 to the runway for yet another mission. 8)

The Komet and Kettenkrad are not for sale, however for a very limited time I am offering the custom Luftwaffe Ground Crew guys to board members.

I have (6) left of the original figure and after that I must go on to other things as I do not multitask very well.

Figures are $20 each + actual shipping.

They are hand painted, weathered and sealed with dull coat.
Joints all move for many posing options, caps are not removable.

PM me with your orders

You may choose the cap you want on yours:

Thanks Guys :D

Absolutely brilliant work Jon. You keep outdoing your self Mate. This is the only ME163 kit I have seen actually completed. Those Luftwaffe ground crew were badly needed in 1 18 and came out fantastic as did Grunts Kettenkrad.
