Look , I've seen these go on eBay for over $200, so for me, yes, it was a good price...
Just thought I would mention the BadCat special in case anyone, like me, needed to fill a few holes, at a reasonable price, at least reasonable to me. Guess it really depends on how bad you want it and what you can afford...

Well, maybe if they would come across and buy some OUT OF THE FREAKING BOX collections, we could afford them quicker and they could move the product quicker.

Although, I have sinned and purchased some moderately scarce boxed AC over the past few months at a little less than these prices- but worry not, me droogies- I unboxed them as quick as possible.

The second .50 barrel on the P-47 appears to be bent/broken to the right. Just sayin'!

I just checked it out as well. Some items priced accordingly with the times, others have a bit crazier prices, but those are the rarer ones. Will be interesting to see how quickly all this clears out.

I paid about $30 for a new P-51 "Killer" earlier this year.

I paid $75 for a new "Cripes A' Mighty" on SSHQ several years ago after they were discontinued which I thought was expensive at the time.

I paid about $80 for a Badcat TBM Avenger-Bunker Hill after some were found in a warehouse in China.

I passed on many Pearl Harbor P-40s at Wal-Mart because they looked too toy-like.

But prices now.........

Some of the prices are reasonable. I was the 4th out of 6 to order the Cripes before they could take it down. All of the 119 prices are pretty good and 149 for Cripes was the best I have seen in years. Some of the prices are standard for Ebay and a few appear to be higher.

Unless by some miracle a new 1/18 company comes on scene people will be kicking themselves for not putting out 119 for some of these planes. I filled my garage with 1/18 planes when Wal Mart cut prices to 25 several years ago. I just wish I had started a few years earlier with the P-47s and Spitfires.

With few exceptions these days, especially if you missed the "golden days" of 18th scale collecting, you've got to "pay to play"...

It comes down to a question of who has 'em and who wants 'em and.......how much
are you willing to pay? That's it.
Look around before you buy, I found a JSI  (I know) Putt Putt Maru for $ 30.00
less than the same thing on another site. :?
I'm not defending anyone's pricing, they do seem high to me but I'm not buying.

Yep, we had a cat that looked like that, too. It was a Maine coon cat. He used to leave a dead bird in front of the door. I found out later that is a cat's sign of gratitude. I miss that cat.

Greetings

The prices do seem on the high retail end of the ranges.

As normandy said it really pays to shop around and be patient. I scored a Marines Dream Corsair for under $90 the other day and awhile back I scored a Viracu Hellcat for $75. You can find them much cheaper if you are willing to wait and be patient. However for the person who is missing that one thing or has waited a few years to get it, this could be a viable option for them

I do find it quite interesting though that these pieces show up when some of the 1/18 pieces are at the highest prices they have been. The Hellcat and Spitfires in particular are going for big bucks right now. Just interesting, not saying anything more than that.

Corey

Hey 456th, thanks for posting the sale. You were just trying to let the forum know in case anybody might be interested, and it is appreciated. Unfortunately, there is no love lost between some members and Badcattoys (I'm not one of them). And this turned into a case of shooting the messenger. ;-). Thanks again for posting, I already have those pieces but appreciate the heads up.

For sure, I was just kidding around. I'm sure some people may benefit, I'm just no fan of Badcat and their business practices.

Man there's some strange stuff on TV these days. Blue CGI bears selling toilet paper. CGI tax experts. Just imagine trying to explain that to the IRS, "Well, yeah, some goofy cgi character did my taxes."

I was not trying to slam you.

Just stating that $149 was / is a little high.

Believe me I have sold plenty on e-bay for well over $149 .

Several over $200.

Sorry I was not trying to be a pooh pooh stirrer.

At this time only 10 planes left. They have sold quite e few. The high priced P-38 Haleakala and cal cutie are left and the high priced avengers. I bought the snortin bull for 89.00 plus shipping with the 10% off. My last one turned into gabreski custom. Easy fix for the gun barrels. Those break all the time on the P-47'S.

Thanks for the heads up. Always good to have members posting things like this (though I'm personally not a huge Bad Cat fan) so others can benefit and complete their collections. Most of us here remember these aircraft when they were well under $100, but in today's generation we can't expect these prices anymore. $149 for a boxed P-51 seems to me to be around (or maybe slightly higher) the going price. If someone wants it, they'll buy it. Compared to some of the things we've seen on ebay (crazy insane prices), this is relatively a good deal. We all just have to live with the fact that this world of collectibles are only going to get more and more expensive as time goes on for things that may have been $50 just 4 years ago.
